Diamond FX Splitcake Tropic Topic (28gr) - wax-based face paint
The Diamond FX Splitcake Tropic Topic (28gr) is a professional wax-based face paint with four tropical colours in one splitcake: Essential Purple, Neon Magenta, Essential Sea Green and Essential Yellow. The wax base lets you build up layers without the colours bleeding or blending into each other straight away. This 28 gram splitcake gives you 10 to 15 full faces.
Diamond FX is gluten-free, free from animal-derived ingredients, parabens, fragrance and lanolin. The Essential colours in this splitcake are formulated with EU- and FDA-compliant cosmetic ingredients and suitable for the sensitive skin of children and adults. The Neon Magenta glows under UV/blacklight and is independently skin-safety tested. Browse all our other Diamond FX colours.

How to use Diamond FX face paint
Activate the face paint with a little clean water. Spray a fine mist onto the cake using a spray bottle, or dip a well-squeezed sponge or damp brush into the colours. Sweep your brush broadly across the splitcake to pick up all the colours in one stroke - that gives you the gradient straight away. Use a water pot and refresh the water between designs to keep colours clean.
Tips for a professional result
- Use the right brushes. The FBFX Face Paint Brushes are made specifically for water-activated face paint with soft synthetic fibres that don't leave fluff behind. For fine details and lines, reach for the FBFX Round Face Paint Brushes.
- Use the right sponge. For large areas, use a Yellow Face Paint Sponge. Latex foam sponges are not suitable for water-activated face paint.
- Keep your water clean. A water pot with clean water next to your workstation prevents the bright tropical colours from mixing or going dull.
- Barrier layer for sensitive skin or intense colours. Apply a thin layer of Marley Skin first. This makes removal easier and prevents staining with the Sea Green and Magenta shades.
How to remove Diamond FX face paint
Remove the face paint with mild, non-moisturising soap and cold to lukewarm water. Hot water opens the pores and pushes pigment deeper into the skin - avoid it. Gently work in the soap and rinse well. Repeat until all the face paint is gone.
For a cleaner and quicker removal without scrubbing:
- Diamond FX Skin Soap - specially developed for removing Diamond FX face paint
- Remover Towel - a damp cloth that lifts the face paint in one swipe, ideal at children's parties and events
What to use Diamond FX Splitcake Tropic Topic for

Frequently asked questions
Why are there sometimes small cracks in the face paint?
Large temperature changes during storage or transport can cause the wax to expand and contract, leading to surface cracks. They usually disappear on their own once you start using the product. There is no effect on quality or shelf life.
Is Diamond FX safe for children?
Yes. The Essential colours in this splitcake are gluten-free, free from fragrance, parabens and lanolin, and contain no animal-derived ingredients. They are formulated with EU- and FDA-compliant cosmetic ingredients and suitable for the sensitive skin of children and adults. The Neon Magenta is independently skin-safety tested. Always do a patch test 24 hours in advance for sensitive skin.
How many faces can you paint with 28 grams?
A 28 gram splitcake gives you approximately 10 to 15 full faces, depending on layer thickness and technique.
What is the difference between Essential, Metallic and Neon?
Essential is matte base face paint. Metallic has a glossy shimmer finish. Neon colours glow under UV/blacklight - Neon Blue, Violet and White are semi-transparent under regular light and only become vibrant under UV/blacklight; the other Neon colours are opaque and bold.
Can you apply Diamond FX over other colours?
Yes, that is one of its strong points. The wax base and high pigmentation mean the top colour covers without the underlying colour showing through. Product photos are taken under professional daylight lamps without colour editing. Colours may vary slightly depending on screen settings.
Compliant with EU Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009. Product photos are taken under professional lighting. Colours may differ slightly depending on your screen settings.
