The Diamond FX Splitcake Tropics (30gr) is a professional wax-based face paint with five tropical colours in one pan: Sea Green, Yellow, Orange, Red and Bordeaux Red. The wax base lets you build up layers without the colours immediately bleeding into each other. This 30 gram pan gives you 10 to 15 full face designs.

How to use Diamond FX face paint

Activate the paint with a small amount of clean water. Mist the pan lightly using a spray bottle, or dip a well-squeezed sponge or damp brush directly into the colours. With a splitcake you move your brush across the colours to pick up multiple shades in one stroke. Use a water pot and refresh the water regularly to keep colours clean and vibrant.

Tips for a professional result

• Use the right brushes. The FBFX Face Paint Brushes are made specifically for face paint with soft synthetic bristles that leave no fluff. For detail work and line art use the FBFX Round Face Paint Brushes.
• Choose the right sponge. For large areas use a Yellow Face Paint Sponge. Latex foam sponges are not suitable for water-activated face paint.
• Keep your water clean. A water pot with fresh water next to your workspace prevents colours from mixing or turning muddy.
• Barrier layer for sensitive skin or intense colours. Apply a thin layer of Marley Skin beforehand. This barrier coat makes removal easier and prevents staining from intense shades like the deep bordeaux red in this pan.

How to remove Diamond FX face paint

Remove the paint with mild, non-moisturising soap and cool to lukewarm water. Hot water opens pores and lets pigment sink deeper into the skin - avoid it. Work the soap in gently and rinse thoroughly. Repeat until all colour is gone.

Large temperature changes during storage or transport can cause the wax to expand and contract, leading to surface cracks. They usually disappear once you start using the pan. There is no effect on quality or shelf life.

What is the difference between Essential, Metallic and Neon?

Essential is matte base face paint. Metallic has a glossy shimmer finish. Neon colours glow under UV/blacklight - Neon Blue, Violet and White are semi-transparent under regular light and only become vivid under UV/blacklight; the other Neon colours are opaque and bold.

Can you apply Diamond FX over other colours?
