Diamond FX Splitcake Calm Ocean (30gr) - wax-based face paint
The Diamond FX Splitcake Calm Ocean (30gr) is a professional wax-based face paint with five ocean shades in one compact: Essential Dark Blue, Essential Blue, Essential Aquamarine, Essential Light Blue and Essential White. The wax formula gives you high pigmentation and strong coverage. You can build up layers easily without the colours bleeding into each other. With 30 grams you can paint 10 to 15 full faces.
Diamond FX Essential is gluten-free, free from animal-derived ingredients, parabens, fragrance and lanolin. The Essential range is formulated with EU- and FDA-compliant cosmetic ingredients and suitable for the sensitive skin of children and adults. Browse all our Diamond FX Essential colours.

How to use Diamond FX face paint
Activate the face paint with a little clean water. Mist the splitcake lightly with a spray bottle, or dip a well-squeezed sponge or damp brush directly into the colours. Move the brush across the shades to pick up the ocean gradient. Work with a water pot and rinse it regularly to keep colours clean and vibrant.
Tips for a professional result
- Use the right brushes. The FBFX Face Paint Brushes are made for water-activated face paint with smooth synthetic bristles that don't shed. For detail work and fine wave lines, reach for the FBFX Round Face Paint Brushes.
- Use the right sponge. For larger areas like backgrounds and body painting, use a Yellow Face Paint Sponge. Latex foam sponges are not suitable for water-activated face paint.
- Keep your water clean. A water pot with fresh water next to your workspace stops the ocean shades from turning muddy or dull.
- Barrier layer for sensitive skin or intense colours. Apply a thin layer of Marley Skin beforehand. This barrier helps with removal and prevents staining from the darker and aqua shades in this pack.
How to remove Diamond FX face paint
Remove the face paint with a mild, non-moisturising soap and cool to lukewarm water. Hot water opens the pores and lets pigment sink deeper into the skin - avoid it. Work the soap in gently and rinse thoroughly. Repeat until all colour is gone.
For a cleaner, faster removal without scrubbing:
- Diamond FX Skin Soap - specially developed for removing Diamond FX face paint
- Remover Towel - a damp cloth that takes the face paint off in one wipe, ideal at events and children's parties where you're painting face after face
What to use Diamond FX Essential Calm Ocean for
- Mermaid face painting - the combination of dark blue, aquamarine and white makes it easy to create realistic mermaid scales and tails on cheeks and arms
- Children's parties and events - waves, fish, dolphins and underwater worlds in a single stroke of the brush
- Ocean and sea themes - theme parties, school projects and fancy dress with a beach or underwater theme
- Body painting and full face designs - the five ocean shades offer enough colour flow for backgrounds and full body paint compositions
- Fantasy and cosplay - water elemental looks, blue fairies and other fantasy characters combining blue and green tones

Frequently asked questions
Why are there sometimes small cracks in the face paint?
Large temperature changes during storage or transport can cause the wax to expand and contract, leading to surface cracks. They usually disappear on their own when you start using the product. There is no effect on quality or shelf life.
Is Diamond FX safe for children?
Yes, Diamond FX Essential is gluten-free, fragrance-, paraben- and lanolin-free, and contains no animal-derived ingredients. The Essential range is formulated with EU- and FDA-compliant cosmetic ingredients and suitable for the sensitive skin of children and adults. Always do a patch test 24 hours in advance for sensitive skin.
How many faces can you paint with 30 grams?
With a 30-gram pack you can paint around 10 to 15 full faces, depending on layer thickness and technique.
What is the difference between Essential, Metallic and Neon?
Essential is matte base face paint. Metallic has a glossy shimmer finish. Neon colours glow under UV/blacklight - Neon Blue, Violet and White are semi-transparent under regular light and only come alive under blacklight; the other Neon colours are opaque and vivid.
Can you apply Diamond FX over other colours?
Yes, that is one of its real strengths. The wax formula and high pigmentation mean the top colour covers without the layer underneath showing through. Product photos were taken under professional daylight lamps without colour correction. Shades may vary slightly depending on your screen settings.
Compliant with EU Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009. Product photos are taken under professional lighting. Colours may differ slightly depending on your screen settings.
