Why choose our face paint starter sets?
Linda puts the sets together herself, based on her experience as a professional face paint, grime and special effects make-up artist. So you don't get a random collection of products, but practical materials that are pleasant for beginners to work with. You also buy everything in one go, which saves you searching and is often better value than buying the parts separately.
In our starter sets we use water-based face paint from well-known brands that comply with European cosmetics regulations. You activate water-based face paint with a little water and usually remove it easily afterwards with lukewarm water and a mild soap.

Tips for beginner face painters
Use too little water rather than too much at first. A sponge is ideal for larger areas and with a brush you make lines and details. Let a first colour dry briefly before applying another colour on top.
Clean brushes and sponges after use and let them dry well. Don't apply face paint to damaged or irritated skin and always follow the product's instructions.
Linda's tip
Rather choose a face paint set with enough different colours than a set with only a few basic colours. While face painting you don't want to keep mixing colours. If you need green, it's much faster and cleaner to grab a pot of green straight away. Especially when you're painting several children one after another.
Don't use too much water and build the colour up gradually. Practise lines, teardrops and swirls a few times on your arm or hand first. That way you get a feel for your brush sooner and discover how much water you need.

Which face paint set is suitable for a beginner?

Do I still need brushes or sponges?
Most complete sets already include brushes and sponges. Always check the product page for exact contents. Later you can expand your set with separate colours, sponges or brush sets.
From what age can you face paint children?
Water-based face paint from certified brands can usually be used from age 3 on healthy, undamaged skin. Avoid the area right around the eyes for young children and follow the instructions and age advice on the packaging.
How do you remove the face paint?
You remove water-based face paint with lukewarm water and a mild soap, such as the Diamond FX Skin Soap. Optionally use the Remover Towel to remove the paint gently. Is there cream or grease paint in your pack? Then first use a cleansing oil, cleansing milk or a remover for grease paint, and wash the skin afterwards with water and soap.
