What is Diamond FX Metallic?
Diamond FX Metallic is professional wax-based face paint with a glossy, metallic finish. Thanks to the strong coverage the shine stays clear, even when you apply the colour over another layer. This way you give your design that little bit extra in an instant. Want to know more about water-based face paint? Read our water-based face paint guide.
Why choose Diamond FX Metallic?
Diamond FX is known for its strong coverage and bright colours. The metallic line adds a glossy shimmer that stays clearly visible, even on a dark base. Ideal for accents, highlights and designs that are allowed to shine.
How do you use Diamond FX Metallic?
Dampen your brush or sponge lightly and activate the colour to a creamy layer. Use metallic mainly for accents, or apply it over a base colour for a glossy effect. Build up in thin layers; water-based face paint sets by itself, so you don't need setting powder.
How do you remove Diamond FX face paint?
Use a mild soap with cold to lukewarm water. Warm water opens your pores, which lets the skin absorb the paint more easily, and that's exactly what you want to avoid. Gently rub the soap over the painted skin and repeat until the paint is gone. For stubborn colours you can use Diamond FX skin soap.
Which Diamond FX colours can you choose?
Alongside the metallic colours, Diamond FX has an Essential line with matte base colours and a Neon line that glows under blacklight. For rainbow and one-stroke effects there are the Splitcakes. This way you build a complete palette. Browse the whole range at Diamond FX.

Tips from SchminkenGrime.nl
Apply metallic over a well-dried base colour, so the shine stays at its best. Use clean water so the colours stay pure and don't work too wet. Wipe the pots clean after use with a lightly damp face paint sponge and let them dry without the lid. Wash your brushes with a mild soap or Diamond FX brush soap, and store everything in a dark place at room temperature.
Frequently asked questions about Diamond FX Metallic
What makes Metallic different from regular face paint?
Metallic has a glossy shimmer finish instead of a matte one. That gives you a metallic effect that stands out, even on a dark base.
Can you use Metallic over other colours?
Yes. The shine stays clear, even over another colour. Let the base layer dry well before you apply the metallic.
Do I need setting powder?
No. Water-based face paint sets by itself on dry skin. Setting powder is for cream paint and foundation, not for water-based face paint.
Can you mix metallic colours?
You can, but preferably mix on the skin or a palette and not in the pot, so your colours stay pure. Build up from light to dark.
Is Diamond FX vegan and gluten-free?
According to the manufacturer, Diamond FX face paint products are vegan: they contain no animal ingredients or by-products and are not tested on animals. The paint is not made in a gluten-free certified facility but, according to the manufacturer, contains no gluten. All colours are paraben-free and fragrance-free.
