Diamond FX Splitcake Skull 30gr - wax-based face paint
The Diamond FX Splitcake Skull 30gr is a professional wax-based face paint designed for skull and skeleton looks in a single stroke. The cake contains three colours - Essential Black, Essential Grey and Essential White - blended together to give you the perfect tonal transition for realistic skull designs. The wax base lets you build up layers without the colours bleeding into each other. With this 30g cake you can paint 10 to 15 full faces.
Diamond FX Essential is gluten-free, free from animal ingredients, parabens, fragrance and lanolin. The Essential range is formulated with EU- and FDA-compliant cosmetic ingredients and suitable for the sensitive skin of both children and adults. Browse all our other Diamond FX Essentials colours.

How to use Diamond FX face paint
Activate the paint with a little clean water. Mist the surface with a spray bottle, or use a well-squeezed sponge or damp brush. Clean water keeps your colours sharp and bright - work with a water pot and refresh it between colours.
Tips for a professional result
- Use the right brushes. The FBFX Face Paint Brushes are made for water-activated paint with smooth synthetic bristles that leave no fluff. For sharp lines and skull detail work, reach for the FBFX Round Face Paint Brushes.
- Use the right sponge. For large areas use a Yellow Face Paint Sponge. Latex foam sponges are not suitable for water-activated face paint.
- Keep your water clean. A water pot with clean water next to your workspace stops colours mixing or turning muddy.
- Barrier layer for sensitive skin or intense colours. Apply a thin layer of Marley Skin beforehand. This barrier makes removal easier and prevents staining from intense dark colours.
How to remove Diamond FX face paint
Remove with a mild, non-moisturising soap and cool to lukewarm water. Hot water opens the pores and drives pigment deeper into the skin - avoid it. Gently work the soap in and rinse thoroughly. Repeat until all the paint is gone.
For a cleaner, quicker removal without scrubbing:
- Diamond FX Skin Soap - specially developed for removing Diamond FX face paint
- Remover Towel - a damp cloth that takes the paint off in one wipe, ideal at events and children's parties where you paint many faces in a row
What to use Diamond FX Essential Skull for
- Halloween and themed events - skull, skeleton, Dia de los Muertos and gothic looks
- Children's face painting - birthday parties, school events and festivals with a spooky or skeleton theme
- Cosplay and character makeup - undead and skull characters, full face designs
- Theatre and SFX - skull bases for prosthetics blending or shadow work in black, grey and white

Frequently asked questions
Why are there sometimes small cracks in the face paint?
Large temperature changes during storage or transport can cause the wax to expand and contract, leading to surface cracks. They usually disappear once you start using the cake. Quality and shelf life are not affected.
Is Diamond FX safe for children?
Yes, Diamond FX Essential is gluten-free, fragrance-, paraben- and lanolin-free and contains no animal ingredients. The Essential range is formulated with EU- and FDA-compliant cosmetic ingredients and suitable for the sensitive skin of children and adults. Always do a patch test 24 hours in advance for sensitive skin.
How many faces can you paint with 30g?
A 30g cake gives you roughly 10 to 15 full faces, depending on layer thickness and technique.
What is the difference between Essential, Metallic and Neon?
Essential is matte base face paint. Metallic has a glossy shimmer finish. Neon colours glow under UV/blacklight - Neon Blue, Violet and White are semi-transparent under regular light and only come alive under UV/blacklight; the other Neon colours are opaque and vivid.
Can you apply Diamond FX over other colours?
Yes, and that is one of its real strengths. The wax base and high pigmentation mean the top colour covers cleanly without the underlying colour showing through. Product photos are taken under professional daylight lamps without colour correction. Colours may vary slightly depending on your screen settings.
Compliant with EU Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009. Product photos are taken under professional lighting. Colours may differ slightly depending on your screen settings.
