Diamond FX Splitcake Sky (30gr) - wax-based face paint
The Diamond FX Splitcake Sky (30gr) is a professional wax-based face paint with four coordinated colours for sky, cloud and heaven looks in a single stroke. The wax base lets you build up layers without the colours bleeding into each other straight away. With this 30g you can paint 10 to 15 full faces.
Diamond FX Essential is gluten-free, free from animal-derived ingredients, parabens, fragrance and lanolin. The Essential range is formulated with EU- and FDA-compliant cosmetic ingredients and suitable for the sensitive skin of children and adults. Browse all our Diamond FX Essential colours.

How to use Diamond FX face paint
Activate the paint with a little clean water. Mist the surface lightly with a spray bottle, or load a well-squeezed sponge or damp brush directly onto the cake. Sweep your brush across all four colours in one smooth movement to pick up the full gradient. Use a water container and refresh the water regularly to keep colours clean and bright.
Tips for a professional result
- Use the right brushes. The FBFX Face Paint Brushes are made specifically for face paint with smooth synthetic hairs that leave no fluff. For detail work and cloud edges, reach for the FBFX Round Face Paint Brushes.
- Use the right sponge. For large areas such as a sky background, use a Yellow Face Paint Sponge. Latex foam sponges are not suitable for face paint.
- Keep your water clean. A container of clean water next to your workspace prevents the sky-blue shades from turning dull or murky.
- Barrier layer for sensitive skin or intense colours. Apply a thin layer of Marley Skin beforehand. This barrier makes removal easier and prevents staining from the dark blue and green shades.
How to remove Diamond FX face paint
Remove with a mild, non-moisturising soap and cool to lukewarm water. Hot water opens the pores and drives pigment deeper into the skin - avoid it. Work the soap in gently and rinse thoroughly. Repeat until all the face paint is gone.
For a cleaner, quicker removal without scrubbing:
- Diamond FX Skin Soap - specially developed for removing Diamond FX face paint
- Remover Towel - a damp cloth that takes the face paint off in one wipe, ideal at events and children's parties where you paint many faces in a row
What to use Diamond FX Splitcake Sky for
- Children's face painting - birthday parties, school events and fairs: a quick sky backdrop for butterflies, clouds, birds and rainbow designs
- One-stroke cloud and sky looks - a realistic sky gradient from blue to white to light green in a single brush stroke
- Festival and summer themes - sunny backdrops on faces and arms at outdoor summer events and garden parties
- Body painting and face art - detailed sky and landscape scenes on the face or body
- Theatre and photography - quick, cohesive background colour for scenes with a nature or seasonal theme

Frequently asked questions
Why are there sometimes small cracks in the face paint?
Large temperature differences during storage or transport can cause the wax to expand and contract, leading to surface cracks. They usually disappear on their own once you start using the product. There is no effect on quality or shelf life.
Is Diamond FX safe for children?
Yes, Diamond FX Essential is gluten-free, fragrance-, paraben- and lanolin-free and contains no animal-derived ingredients. The Essential range is formulated with EU- and FDA-compliant cosmetic ingredients and suitable for the sensitive skin of children and adults. Always do a patch test 24 hours in advance for sensitive skin.
How many faces can you paint with 30g?
With a 30g cake you can paint around 10 to 15 full faces, depending on layer thickness and technique.
What is the difference between Essential, Metallic and Neon?
Essential is matte base face paint. Metallic has a glossy shimmer finish. Neon colours glow under UV/blacklight - Neon Blue, Violet and White are semi-transparent under regular light and only come alive under UV/blacklight; the other Neon colours are opaque and vivid.
Can you apply Diamond FX over other colours?
Yes, that is one of its strengths. The wax base and high pigmentation mean the top colour covers without the underlying colour showing through. Product photos are taken under professional daylight lamps without colour editing. Colours may vary slightly depending on screen settings.
Compliant with EU Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009. Product photos are taken under professional lighting. Colours may differ slightly depending on your screen settings.
