How to use Diamond FX face paint
Activate the face paint with a little clean water. Mist the surface with a spray bottle, or dip a well-squeezed sponge or damp brush into the cake. For clean, bright colour transitions, use a water pot and refresh the water regularly between colours.
Tips for a professional result
- Use the right brushes. The FBFX Face Paint Brushes are made specifically for water-activated face paint with soft synthetic bristles that don't shed. For fine leaves, stems and detail work, reach for the FBFX Round Face Paint Brushes.
- Use the right sponge. For large areas, work with a Yellow Face Paint Sponge. Latex foam sponges are not suitable for water-activated face paint.
- Keep your water clean. A water pot with fresh water next to your workspace keeps the spring greens in this splitcake looking bright and true.
- Barrier layer for sensitive skin or intense colours. Apply a thin layer of Marley Skin beforehand. This barrier coat makes removal easier and prevents staining from the deeper green shades.
How to remove Diamond FX face paint
Remove the face paint with a mild, non-moisturising soap and cool to lukewarm water. Hot water opens the pores, letting pigment sink deeper into the skin - avoid it. Gently work in the soap and rinse thoroughly. Repeat until all the colour is gone.
For a quicker, fuss-free removal:
- Diamond FX Skin Soap - developed specifically for removing Diamond FX face paint
- Remover Towel - a damp cloth that wipes away the colour in one go, ideal at children's parties where you're painting face after face
What to use Diamond FX Splitcake Spring for
- Children's parties and birthday events - butterflies, fairies, flowers and spring animals in a single stroke
- One stroke spring and floral designs - leaves, stems and blossom without swapping colours
- School activities and spring events - fast and colourful when you have a queue of children waiting
- Cosplay and fantasy make-up - elves, fairies and forest spirits with soft white-to-green tones
- Body painting and face paint with colour gradients - the transition from white through light green to dark green is built right into the cake

Frequently asked questions
Why does the face paint sometimes have small cracks?
Large temperature changes during storage or transport can cause the wax to expand and contract, leading to surface cracks. They normally disappear with use. There is no effect on quality or shelf life.
Is Diamond FX safe for children?
Yes, Diamond FX is gluten-free, fragrance-, paraben- and lanolin-free and contains no animal-derived ingredients. The range is formulated with EU- and FDA-compliant cosmetic ingredients and suitable for the sensitive skin of children and adults. Always do a patch test 24 hours in advance for sensitive skin.
How many faces can you paint with 30 grams?
A 30-gram pot covers approximately 10 to 15 full faces, depending on layer thickness and technique.
What is the difference between Essential, Metallic and Neon?
Essential is matte base face paint. Metallic has a glossy shimmer finish. Neon colours glow under UV/blacklight - Neon Blue, Violet and White are semi-transparent under regular light and only come to life under UV/blacklight; the other Neon colours are opaque and vivid.
Can you apply Diamond FX over other colours?
Yes, that's one of its real strengths. The wax base and high pigmentation mean the top colour covers without the underlying colour showing through. Product photos are taken under professional daylight lamps without colour editing. Colours may vary slightly depending on screen settings.
Compliant with EU Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009. Product photos are taken under professional lighting. Colours may differ slightly depending on your screen settings.
