How to use Diamond FX face paint

Activate the paint with a small amount of clean water. Mist the surface lightly with a spray bottle, or dip a well-squeezed sponge or damp brush directly into the cake. For a rocket or fire design, load your brush in one sweep from yellow to grey to pick up all four colours at once. Work with a water container and refresh the water between designs to keep colours clean and vivid.

Tips for a professional result

• Use the right brushes. The FBFX Face Paint Brushes are made for water-activated face paint with soft synthetic bristles that leave no fluff. For detail work and line work, reach for the FBFX Round Face Paint Brushes.
• Use the right sponge. For large areas, work with a Yellow Face Paint Sponge. Latex foam sponges are not suitable for water-based face paint.
• Keep your water clean. A water container with fresh water next to your workspace prevents the yellow-orange-red-grey gradient from turning muddy.
• Barrier layer for sensitive skin or intense colours. Apply a thin layer of Marley Skin beforehand. This barrier makes removal easier and helps prevent staining from intense pigments like the red and orange shades in this splitcake.

How to remove Diamond FX face paint

Remove the face paint with a mild, non-moisturising soap and cool to lukewarm water. Hot water opens the pores and lets pigment sink deeper into the skin - avoid it. Gently work the soap in and rinse thoroughly. Repeat until all the face paint is gone.

Why are there sometimes small cracks in the face paint?

Large temperature differences during storage or transport can cause the wax to expand and contract, resulting in surface cracks. They usually disappear on their own once you start using the cake. There is no effect on quality or shelf life.

Can you apply Diamond FX over other colours?
