What is the Witch Nose Small?
A latex prosthetic shaped like a long, curved witch's nose with narrow nostrils. The edges taper to a thin finish so they blend seamlessly into your own skin. Remove the prosthetic carefully after use, clean it thoroughly and store it dry - it can be used many times over.
Why does this prosthetic work so well?
No moulding, no waiting for drying time, no liquid latex to build up layer by layer. The shape is already there. Your work is in blending the edges and painting it in. That is where you make the difference.
How do you apply the Witch Nose Small?
Hold the prosthetic dry against your nose first to find the right position. Do this before applying any adhesive.
Apply a thin layer of skin adhesive to both the back of the prosthetic and your skin. Pros-Aide is the standard choice for long-lasting hold; for a quick application you can also use spirit gum. Let the adhesive go tacky before pressing the prosthetic into place.
Press the prosthetic firmly from the centre outwards to the edges. Blend the edges with liquid latex or Pros-Aide Cream. Several thin layers give the smoothest transition. Dust the edges with setting powder before you start painting the prosthetic.
Painting
Colour the prosthetic using face paint, greasepaint or alcohol-activated makeup (such as Encore palettes). Work in thin layers. Start with a base colour that matches your skin tone for a subtle character look, or go pale green or grey for a classic witch nose. Add dark shadow in the hollows and along the bridge for extra depth and a more realistic result.
Setting and removal
Set your colour work with setting powder so nothing smudges or runs. To remove, work a remover such as Mouldlife Life Wipes, Ben Nye Remove it All or Pro-clean cleansing Oil under the edges, gently lift the prosthetic away and rinse the skin with lukewarm water.
