The Woochie Latex Unicorn is a latex horn prosthetic by Woochie for the forehead, designed for unicorn looks at cosplay events, Halloween and fantasy occasions. Apply the horn, colour it in and your unicorn look is complete.
What is the Latex Unicorn?
A latex prosthetic shaped like an elegant unicorn horn. The thin, finished edges blend smoothly into the skin so the transition is barely visible. Remove the prosthetic carefully after use, clean it and store it dry - and you can use it multiple times.
Why does this prosthetic work so well?
No sculpting, no waiting for drying time, no liquid latex to build up layer by layer. The shape is already there. Your work is in blending the edges and painting it in. That is where you make the difference.
How do you apply the Latex Unicorn?
Hold the prosthetic dry against your forehead first to find the right position. Do this before applying any adhesive.
Apply a thin layer of skin adhesive to both the back of the prosthetic and your skin. Pros-Aide is the standard for long-lasting hold; for a quick fix you can also use spirit gum. Let the adhesive go tacky before pressing the prosthetic onto the skin.
Press the prosthetic firmly from the centre outward to the edges. Then blend the edges with liquid latex or Pros-Aide Cream. Multiple thin layers give the smoothest finish. Powder the edges well with setting powder before you start painting the prosthetic.
Painting
Colour the prosthetic with face paint, grease paint or alcohol-activated make-up (such as Encore palettes). Work in thin layers. Use grey or beige as a base, add dark shadow into the grooves of the horn and apply light highlights to the tip for depth and a natural look.
Setting and removal
Set your colour work with setting powder so nothing runs. To remove, work a Pros-Aide remover such as Mouldlife Life Wipes, Ben Nye Remove it All or Pro-clean Cleansing Oil under the edges, gently lift the prosthetic away and rinse the skin with lukewarm water.
