The Woochie Latex Alien Horns are a latex horn prosthetic from Woochie for a convincing alien or fantasy look. Apply the horns to your forehead, colour them to match your character and your horror, Halloween or SFX look is complete.
What is the Alien Horns?
A latex prosthetic in the form of two pointed horns, designed to be applied to the forehead or the top of the head. The edges taper thin so they blend smoothly into the skin. After use, remove them carefully, clean them and store them dry - so you can use them multiple times.
Why does this prosthetic work so well?
No moulding, no waiting for drying time, no liquid latex to build up layer by layer. The shape is already there. Your work is in blending the edges and colouring. That is where you make the difference.
How do you apply the Alien Horns?
Hold the horns dry against your forehead first to find the right position. Do this before you apply any adhesive.
Apply a thin layer of skin adhesive to both the back of the prosthetic and your skin. Pros-Aide is the standard for long-lasting adhesion; for a quick fix you can also use spirit gum. Let the adhesive become tacky before pressing the prosthetic onto the skin.
Press the horns firmly from the centre outwards to the edges. Blend the edges with liquid latex or Pros-Aide Cream. Multiple thin layers give the best transition. Powder the edges with setting powder before you start colouring the prosthetic.
Painting
Colour the prosthetic using face paint, greasepaint or alcohol-activated make-up (such as Encore palettes). Work in thin layers. Start with grey or a cool brown as a base, add dark shadow into the grooves and along the base of the horns, then apply light highlights to the tips for depth and a three-dimensional effect.
Setting and removal
Set your colour work with setting powder so nothing smears. To remove, work a Pros-Aide remover such as Mouldlife Life Wipes, Ben Nye Remove it All or Pro-clean cleansing Oil under the edges, lift the prosthetic gently and rinse the skin with lukewarm water.
