Woochie Latex Big Horns
The Woochie Latex Big Horns are a latex horn prosthetic by Woochie for Halloween, fantasy and cosplay. Apply them to your forehead, colour them to match your character, and your fantasy or horror look is complete.
What is the Big Horns?
A latex prosthetic in the shape of two large, bold horns. The edges are thinly finished so they blend smoothly into the skin for a seamless transition. Remove them carefully after use, clean them and store them dry. That way you get multiple uses out of them.
Why does this prosthetic work so well?
No kneading, no waiting for drying time, no liquid latex to build up layer by layer. The shape is already there. Your work is in blending the edges and adding colour. That is where you make the difference.
How do you apply the Big Horns?
Hold the prosthetic dry against your forehead first to find the right position. Do this before applying any adhesive.
Apply a thin, even layer of skin adhesive to both the back of the prosthetic and your skin. Pros-Aide is the standard for long-lasting hold; for a quick fix you can also use spirit gum. Let the adhesive go tacky before pressing the prosthetic onto your skin.
Press the prosthetic firmly from the centre outwards to the edges. Blend the edges with liquid latex or Pros-Aide Cream. Several thin layers give the best transition. Powder the edges well with setting powder before moving on to colouring the prosthetic.
Painting
Colour the prosthetic with water-activated face paint, grease paint or alcohol-activated makeup (such as Encore palettes). Work in thin layers. Start with grey or brown as a base, press darker shadow into the grooves of the horns and add light highlights to the tips for a three-dimensional effect.
Setting and removal
Set your colour work with setting powder so nothing smudges. To remove, work a remover such as Mouldlife Life Wipes, Ben Nye Remove it All or Pro-clean Cleansing Oil under the edges, lift the prosthetic carefully and rinse the skin with lukewarm water.
