The Woochie Latex Beastly Horns are a latex horn prosthetic from Woochie for beast characters, Halloween and cosplay. Apply them to your forehead, paint them to match your creature look, and your horror, Halloween or fantasy look is complete.
What are the Beastly Horns?
A latex prosthetic shaped like rugged beastly horns, moulded for the forehead or top of the head. The edges taper thinly so they blend seamlessly into the skin. Remove them carefully after use, clean them and store them dry, and you can reuse them multiple times.
Why does this prosthetic work so well?
No moulding, no waiting for drying time, no liquid latex to build up layer by layer. The horn shape is already there. Your work goes into blending the edges and painting the piece. That is where you make the difference.
How do you apply the Beastly Horns?
Hold the prosthetic dry against your forehead first to find the right position. Do this before you apply any adhesive.
Apply a thin layer of skin adhesive to both the back of the prosthetic and your skin. Pros-Aide is the standard for long-lasting hold; for a quick application you can also use spirit gum. Let the adhesive go tacky before pressing the prosthetic onto your skin.
Press the prosthetic firmly from the centre outwards to the edges. Blend the edges with liquid latex or Pros-Aide Cream. Multiple thin layers give the smoothest transition. Powder the edges well with setting powder before you start painting the prosthetic.
Painting
Colour the prosthetic with face paint, greasepaint or alcohol-activated makeup (such as Encore palettes). Work in thin layers. Start with grey or brown as a base, then add dark shadow into the grooves of the horns and build up light highlights on the tips and ridges for a three-dimensional effect.
Setting and removal
Set your colour work with setting powder so nothing smudges. To remove, work a Pros-Aide remover such as Mouldlife Life Wipes, Ben Nye Remove it All or Pro-clean cleansing Oil under the edges, lift the prosthetic gently and rinse the skin with lukewarm water afterwards.
