The Woochie Latex Cat Nose is a ready-to-wear latex nose prosthetic by Woochie for an instantly convincing cat character. Apply it, paint it in a matching colour, and your Halloween or cosplay look is complete.
What is the Cat Nose?
A latex prosthetic shaped like a cat nose with flared nostrils and subtle ridges that mimic a feline form. The edges are thinly finished so they blend seamlessly into the skin. Remove the prosthetic carefully after use, clean it and store it dry - and you can use it multiple times.
Why does this prosthetic work so well?
No kneading, no waiting for drying time, no liquid latex to build up layer by layer. The shape is already there. Your work is in blending the edges and painting the colour. That is where you make the difference.
How do you apply the Cat Nose?
Hold the prosthetic dry against your nose first to find the right position. Do this before applying any adhesive.
Apply a thin layer of skin adhesive to both the back of the prosthetic and your skin. Pros-Aide is the standard for long-lasting hold; for a quick application you can also use spirit gum. Let the adhesive become tacky before pressing the prosthetic onto the skin.
Press the prosthetic firmly from the centre outwards to the edges. Blend the edges with liquid latex or Pros-Aide Cream. Multiple thin layers give the smoothest transition. Dust the edges with setting powder before moving on to painting the prosthetic.
Painting
Colour the prosthetic with water-activated face paint, greasepaint or alcohol-activated makeup (such as Encore palettes). Work in thin layers. Match the colour to your own skin tone for a realistic feline effect, or go for an extreme pale or green character look for a fantasy or Halloween cat.
Setting and removal
Set your colour work with setting powder so nothing smudges. To remove, work a Pros-Aide remover such as Mouldlife Life Wipes, Ben Nye Remove it All or Pro-clean Cleansing Oil under the edges, lift the prosthetic carefully and rinse the skin with lukewarm water.
