The Woochie Latex Nose Normal is a ready-to-wear latex nose prosthetic from Woochie for an instant, realistic facial transformation. Apply it, colour it to match your skin tone or go for an extreme character look, and your horror, Halloween or SFX look is complete.
What is the Nose Normal?
A latex prosthetic in the shape of a realistic, neutral nose worn over your own nose. The thin, finished edges blend seamlessly into the skin for a convincing transition. Remove the prosthetic carefully after use, clean it and store it dry, and you can use it multiple times.
Why does this prosthetic work so well?
No kneading, no waiting for dry time, no liquid latex to build up layer by layer. The shape is already there. Your job is blending the edges and colouring it in. That's where you make the difference.
How do you apply the Nose Normal?
Hold the prosthetic dry against your nose first to find the right position. Do this before applying any adhesive.
Apply a thin, even layer of skin adhesive to both the back of the prosthetic and your skin. Pros-Aide is the standard for long-lasting hold; for a quick fix you can also use spirit gum. Let the adhesive go tacky before pressing the prosthetic onto the skin.
Press the prosthetic firmly from the centre outwards to the edges. Blend the edges using liquid latex or Pros-Aide Cream. Several thin layers give the smoothest finish. Dust the edges with setting powder before moving on to colouring the prosthetic.
Painting
Colour the prosthetic using water-activated face paint, greasepaint or alcohol-activated make-up (such as Encore palettes). Work in thin layers. Match your skin tone for a realistic extra nose, or go for an extremely pale, green or grey character look such as a ghost, zombie or fantasy creature.
Setting and removal
Set your colour work with setting powder so nothing smudges. To remove, work a Pros-Aide remover such as Mouldlife Life Wipes, Ben Nye Remove it All or Pro-clean cleansing Oil under the edges, lift the prosthetic gently and rinse the skin with lukewarm water afterwards.
