What is the Witch Nose Large?
A latex prosthetic shaped like a large, hooked witch nose with a pronounced curve and pointed tip. The thin finished edges blend smoothly into the skin for a seamless fit. Remove it carefully after use, clean it and store it dry - and you can use it multiple times.
Why does this prosthetic work so well?
No moulding, no waiting for drying time, no liquid latex to build up layer by layer. The shape is already there. Your work is in blending the edges and painting it in. That's where you make the difference.
How do you apply the Witch Nose Large?
Hold the prosthetic dry against your nose first to find the right position. Do this before you apply any adhesive.
Apply a thin layer of skin adhesive to both the back of the prosthetic and your skin. Pros-Aide is the standard for long-lasting hold; for a quick application you can also use spirit gum. Let the adhesive become tacky before pressing the prosthetic onto the skin.
Press the prosthetic firmly from the centre outward to the edges. Then blend the edges using liquid latex or Pros-Aide Cream. Multiple thin layers give the best transition. Powder the edges with setting powder before you move on to colouring the prosthetic.
Painting
Colour the prosthetic using water-activated face paint, cream make-up or alcohol-activated make-up (such as Encore palettes). Work in thin layers. Match your skin tone for a realistic witch nose, or go for a pale green or ashen tone for a classic witch look. Build colour from light to dark and add depth in the grooves and nose creases with a darker shade.
Setting and removal
Set your colour work with setting powder so nothing runs. To remove, work a Pros-Aide remover such as Mouldlife Life Wipes, Ben Nye Remove it All or Pro-clean Cleansing Oil under the edges, gently lift the prosthetic and rinse the skin with lukewarm water.
