What is the Werewolf Ears XL?
A latex prosthetic shaped as large, pointed werewolf ears that sit over your own ears. The thin, finished edges blend smoothly into the skin for a realistic transition. Remove them carefully after use, clean them thoroughly, and store them dry - they can be used multiple times.
Why does this prosthetic work so well?
No kneading, no waiting for drying time, no liquid latex to build up layer by layer. The shape is already there. Your work is in blending the edges and adding colour. That's where you make the difference.
How do you apply the Werewolf Ears XL?
Hold the prosthetic dry against your ear first to find the right position. Do this before applying any adhesive.
Apply a thin, even layer of skin adhesive to both the back of the prosthetic and your skin. Pros-Aide is the standard choice for long-lasting hold; for a quick fix you can also use spirit gum. Let the adhesive become tacky before pressing the prosthetic into place.
Press the prosthetic firmly from the centre outwards to the edges. Blend the edges using liquid latex or Pros-Aide Cream. Several thin layers give the smoothest transition. Powder the edges well with setting powder before you start colouring the prosthetic.
Painting
Colour the prosthetic with water-activated face paint, grease paint, or alcohol-activated paint (such as Encore palettes). Work in thin layers. Match your own skin tone for a seamless look, or go pale, grey, or greenish for an extreme werewolf character.
Setting and removal
Set your colour work with setting powder so nothing smudges. To remove, work a Pros-Aide remover such as Mouldlife Life Wipes, Ben Nye Remove it All, or Pro-clean cleansing Oil under the edges, lift the prosthetic carefully, and rinse the skin with lukewarm water.
