Woochie Latex Vampire Ears
The Woochie Latex Vampire Ears are a latex ear prosthetic from Woochie for a vampire character look. Apply them over your own ears, colour them to match your skin tone or go for an icy-pale vampire look, and your horror, Halloween or SFX look is complete.
What is the Vampire Ears?
A latex prosthetic shaped like a pointed, elf-like ear that fits over your own ear. The thin, finished edges blend seamlessly into the skin so the transition is almost invisible. Remove them carefully after use, clean them and store them dry, and they can be used multiple times.
Why does this prosthetic work so well?
No kneading, no waiting for drying time, no liquid latex to build up layer by layer. The shape is already there. Your work is in blending the edges and adding colour. That is where you make the difference.
How do you apply the Vampire Ears?
Hold the prosthetic dry against your ear first to find the right position. Do this before you apply any adhesive.
Apply a thin layer of skin adhesive to both the back of the prosthetic and your skin. Pros-Aide is the standard for long-lasting hold; for a quick application you can also use spirit gum. Let the adhesive go tacky before pressing the prosthetic onto the skin.
Press the prosthetic firmly from the centre outwards towards the edges. Blend the edges with liquid latex or Pros-Aide Cream. Multiple thin layers give the best transition. Powder the edges well with setting powder before you start painting the prosthetic.
Painting
Colour the prosthetic with water-activated face paint, grease paint or alcohol-activated makeup (such as Encore palettes). Work in thin layers. Match your skin tone for a subtle elfish effect, or go icy pale and bluish-grey for a classic vampire look.
Setting and removal
Set your colour work with setting powder so nothing runs. To remove, work a remover such as Mouldlife Life Wipes, Ben Nye Remove it All or Pro-clean cleansing Oil under the edges, lift the prosthetic gently and rinse the skin with lukewarm water afterwards.
