Woochie Latex Orc Ears
The Woochie Latex Orc Ears are a latex ear prosthetic from Woochie for cosplay, Halloween and fantasy looks. Apply them to your ears, paint them in, and your orc character is complete.
What is the Orc Ears?
A latex prosthetic shaped like pointed, rugged orc ears. The edges taper thin so they blend smoothly into your skin, making the join nearly invisible. Remove them carefully after use, clean them properly and store them dry, and they can be used multiple times.
Why does this prosthetic work so well?
No moulding, no waiting for drying time, no liquid latex to build up layer by layer. The shape is already there. Your work is in blending the edges and painting. That is where you make the difference.
How do you apply the Orc Ears?
Hold the prosthetic dry against your ear first to find the right position. Do this before applying any adhesive.
Apply a thin layer of skin adhesive to both the back of the prosthetic and your skin. Pros-Aide is the standard for long-lasting hold; for a quick application you can also use spirit gum. Let the adhesive go tacky before pressing the prosthetic onto the skin.
Press the prosthetic firmly from the centre outward to the edges. Blend the edges with liquid latex or Pros-Aide Cream. Several thin layers give the smoothest transition. Powder the edges with setting powder before moving on to painting the prosthetic.
Painting
Paint the prosthetic with water-activated face paint, grease paint or alcohol-activated makeup (such as Encore palettes). Work in thin layers. Start with a base tone that matches your skin or the orc colour you want, classic green or grey-green works well for this character. Add shadow in the grooves and hollows, then finish with light highlights on the raised areas for extra depth.
Setting and removal
Set your colour work with setting powder so nothing smudges. To remove, work a Pros-Aide remover such as Mouldlife Life Wipes, Ben Nye Remove it All or Pro-clean Cleansing Oil under the edges, lift the prosthetic carefully and rinse the skin with lukewarm water.
