What is the Large Space Ear Tips?
A latex prosthetic in the shape of large, pointed ears that you wear over your own ear. The thin, finished edges blend smoothly into the skin for as natural a transition as possible. Remove the prosthetic carefully after use, clean them and store them dry, and they can be used multiple times.
Why does this prosthetic work so well?
No kneading, no waiting for drying time, no liquid latex to build up layer by layer. The large pointed shape is already there. Your work is in blending the edges and painting. That's where you make the difference.
How do you apply the Large Space Ear Tips?
Hold the prosthetic dry against your ear first to determine the right position. Do this before applying any adhesive.
Apply a thin layer of skin adhesive to both the back of the prosthetic and your skin. Pros-Aide is the standard for long-lasting adhesion; for a quick stick you can also use spirit gum. Let the adhesive become tacky before pressing the prosthetic onto the skin.
Press the prosthetic firmly from the centre outwards to the edges. Then blend the edges with liquid latex or Pros-Aide Cream. Multiple thin layers give the best transition. Powder the edges well with setting powder before you start painting the prosthetic.
Painting
Colour the prosthetic with water-activated face paint, grease paint or alcohol-activated makeup (such as Encore palettes). Work in thin layers. Match the colour to your skin tone for a subtle sci-fi character, or go for green, pale or grey for a fully alien look.
Setting and removal
Set your colour work with setting powder so nothing smudges. To remove, work a Pros-Aide remover such as Mouldlife Life Wipes, Ben Nye Remove it All or Pro-clean Cleansing Oil under the edges, lift the prosthetic off carefully and rinse the skin with lukewarm water.
