Diamond FX Splitcake Black-out 30gr - wax-based face paint
The Diamond FX Splitcake Black-out 30gr is a professional wax-based face paint with Essential White and Essential Black combined in a single cake. The wax formula gives you high pigmentation and strong coverage, so one stroke of your brush already creates a sharp white-to-black transition. With this 30 gram cake you can paint 10 to 15 full faces.
Diamond FX Essential is gluten-free, free from animal-derived ingredients, parabens, perfume and lanolin. The Essential range is formulated with EU- and FDA-compliant cosmetic ingredients and suitable for the sensitive skin of children and adults. Browse all our other Diamond FX Essential colours.

How to use Diamond FX face paint
Activate the paint with a small amount of clean water. Mist the surface lightly with a spray bottle, or load a well-squeezed sponge or damp brush directly onto the cake. Move your brush in one smooth stroke over the cake to pick up both colours at once. Use a water pot and refresh your water between colours to keep results crisp and clean.
Tips for a professional result
- Use the right brushes. The FBFX Face Paint Brushes are made specifically for face paint with smooth synthetic bristles that leave no fluff. For detail work and sharp lines, reach for the FBFX Round Face Paint Brushes.
- Use the right sponge. For covering large areas, work with a Yellow Face Paint Sponge. Latex foam sponges are not suitable for water-activated face paint.
- Keep your water clean. A water pot with fresh water next to your workstation prevents white and black from turning muddy.
- Barrier layer for sensitive skin or intense colours. Apply a thin layer of Marley Skin beforehand. This barrier makes removal easier and prevents staining with deep pigments like black.
How to remove Diamond FX face paint
Remove the face paint with a mild, non-moisturising soap and cold to lukewarm water. Hot water opens pores and drives pigment deeper into the skin - best avoided. Gently work in the soap and rinse thoroughly. Repeat until all the paint is gone.
For a quicker, easier removal without scrubbing:
- Diamond FX Skin Soap - developed specifically for removing Diamond FX face paint
- Remover Towel - a damp cloth that lifts the paint in one wipe, ideal at events and children's parties where you paint many faces in a row

Frequently asked questions
Why are there sometimes small cracks in the paint?
Large temperature changes during storage or transport can cause the wax to expand and contract, leading to surface cracks. They usually disappear on their own once you start using the paint. There is no effect on quality or shelf life.
Is Diamond FX safe for children?
Yes, Diamond FX Essential is gluten-free, free from perfume, parabens, lanolin and animal-derived ingredients. The Essential range is formulated with EU- and FDA-compliant cosmetic ingredients and suitable for the sensitive skin of children and adults. Always do a patch test 24 hours in advance for sensitive skin.
How many faces can you paint with 30 grams?
A 30 gram cake gives you roughly 10 to 15 full faces, depending on layer thickness and technique.
What is the difference between Essential, Metallic and Neon?
Essential is matte base face paint. Metallic has a glossy shimmer finish. Neon colours glow under UV/blacklight - Neon Blue, Violet and White are semi-transparent under regular light and only come alive under UV/blacklight; the other Neon colours are opaque and vibrant.
Can you paint Diamond FX over other colours?
Yes, that is one of its strengths. The wax base and high pigmentation mean the top colour covers without the layer underneath showing through. Product photos are taken under professional daylight lamps without colour editing. Colours may vary slightly depending on screen settings.
Compliant with EU Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009. Product photos are taken under professional lighting. Colours may differ slightly depending on your screen settings.
