The Woochie Latex Elf Ears Large are a latex ear prosthetic from Woochie for elf and fantasy characters. Apply them over your own ears, colour them to match your skin tone and your elf look is complete.
What are the Elf Ears Large?
A latex prosthetic shaped as large, pointed elf ears that sit over your own ear. The thin, finished edges blend smoothly into the skin so the join is barely visible. Remove carefully, clean them and store them dry - that way you can use them multiple times.
Why does this prosthetic work so well?
No moulding, no waiting for drying time, no liquid latex to build up layer by layer. The pointed elf shape is already there. Your work is in blending the edges and colouring. That is where you make the difference.
How do you apply the Elf Ears Large?
Hold the prosthetic dry against your ear first to find the right position. Do this before you apply any adhesive.
Apply a thin layer of skin adhesive to both the back of the prosthetic and your skin. Pros-Aide is the standard for long-lasting hold; for a quick fix you can also use spirit gum. Let the adhesive go tacky before pressing the prosthetic onto the skin.
Press the prosthetic firmly from the centre out to the edges. Then blend the edges with liquid latex or Pros-Aide Cream. Multiple thin layers give the smoothest transition. Powder the edges well with setting powder before you start colouring the prosthetic.
Painting
Colour the prosthetic with face paint, greasepaint or alcohol-activated makeup (such as Encore palettes). Work in thin layers. Match the base colour to your skin tone for a believable elf look, or go for a pale or slightly greenish tone for a woodland or dark-elf character. Work shadow into the curves and add a light highlight to the tip of the ear.
Setting and removal
Set your colour work with setting powder so nothing smudges. To remove, work a remover such as Mouldlife Life Wipes, Ben Nye Remove it All or Pro-clean Cleansing Oil under the edges, lift the prosthetic gently and rinse the skin afterwards with lukewarm water.
