The ProAiir Profile Stencils are designed to cover half a face in no time at all. With this Sail Away Profile Stencil, you place a sport and vehicle design on the side of the face. Press the stencil against the face, airbrush, lift it off, done. Great for kids' parties with a car or sailing theme, sports events and themed parties.
Note: these stencils are intended for use with an airbrush. Using a makeup sponge or finger sponge is possible too, but the size of the stencil makes it more of a challenge.
What is the Profile Stencil Sail Away?
A reusable makeup stencil made from flexible, semi-transparent 7 mil mylar (approximately 0.18 mm thick). One character design per stencil: in this case the Sail Away design cut into mylar, a half-face stencil for the side of the face, suited to sport and vehicle themes.
The images on the product photos are examples. The colour that lands on the skin depends on the makeup you choose.
Why pick this stencil?
- Designed for airbrush. Works with your ProAiir Hybrid, ProAiir Ink or Endura for the sharpest result. A damp sponge with water-activated face paint works too, but the detail is harder to achieve at this size.
- Quick character effect. A complete Sail Away look in 2 to 3 minutes. Ideal for busy kids' parties or sports events where you need to work through a crowd fast.
- Reusable. Mylar is durable and flexible. Clean it properly and store it flat and it will last for years.
- Follows the shape of the face. The thin, flexible mylar sits snugly against the cheek, forehead and nose bridge without the edges lifting.
How to use the stencil
- Press the stencil flat against one side of the face, with the eye cut-out aligned over the eye.
- Spray with an airbrush for the best, most detailed result. Or dab with a damp makeup sponge if you don't have an airbrush. Bear in mind that the fine details are harder to achieve at this size.
- Lift the stencil straight up. Don't slide it across the skin or the lines will smear.
Tip for water-activated face paint: keep your sponge damp, not wet. Too much moisture and the paint bleeds under the edges, making your lines blurry.
Cleaning and storage
Used water-activated face paint? Rinse the stencil under lukewarm water with a little mild soap. Pat gently dry and leave it lying flat until completely dry. Don't roll or fold it, or the mylar will develop permanent creases.
Used ProAiir Hybrid or Ink? Clean the stencil with 99.9% alcohol or ProAiir ProClean. These dissolve the alcohol-based makeup without swelling the mylar.
For storage: keep the stencil flat in a stencil rack or between two sheets of paper inside a flat folder.
