ProAiir Profile Stencil Gotcha
The ProAiir Profile Stencils are designed to cover half a face in no time at all. With this Gotcha Profile Stencil you place a horror character design on the side of the face. Position the stencil, press it down, airbrush, lift it off, done. Ideal for Halloween, SFX photoshoots, themed events and theatre or film productions.
Note: these stencils are designed for use with an airbrush. Using a makeup sponge or finger sponge is possible too, but the size of the stencil makes it more of a challenge.
What is the Profile Stencil Gotcha?
A reusable makeup stencil made from flexible, semi-transparent 7 mil mylar (approximately 0.18 mm thick). One character design per stencil: in this case the Gotcha character design, cut as a half-face stencil for the side of the face, suited to horror and Halloween work.
The images in the product photos are examples. The colour that lands on the skin is entirely your choice, using your own makeup.
Why pick this stencil?
- Built for airbrush. The stencil works with your ProAiir Hybrid, ProAiir Ink or Endura for the sharpest results. A damp sponge and water-based face paint will also work, but the size of the stencil makes fine detail harder to achieve.
- Fast character effect. A complete Gotcha look in 2 to 3 minutes. Perfect for Halloween events and busy face painting sessions where you need a recognisable horror design quickly.
- Reusable. Mylar is durable and flexible. Clean it properly, store it flat, and it will last for years.
- Follows the contours of the face. The thin, flexible mylar hugs the cheek, forehead and nose bridge without the edges lifting.
How to use the stencil
- Place the stencil flat against one side of the face, aligning the eye cutout around the eye.
- Spray with the airbrush for the best, most detailed result. Or dab with a damp makeup sponge if you do not have an airbrush. Bear in mind that the size of the stencil makes fine detail harder to achieve with a sponge.
- Lift the stencil straight off. Do not slide it across the skin or you will smear the edges.
Tip with water-based face paint: keep your sponge damp, not wet. Too much moisture and the paint bleeds under the edges, making your lines blurry.
Cleaning and storage
Used water-based face paint? Rinse the stencil under lukewarm water with a little mild soap. Pat it dry gently and lay it flat until it is completely dry. Do not roll or fold it, as this creates permanent kinks in the mylar.
Used ProAiir Hybrid or Ink? Clean the stencil with 99.9% alcohol or ProAiir ProClean. Both dissolve the alcohol-based paint without swelling the mylar.
For storage: keep the stencil flat in a stencil rack or between two sheets of paper inside a flat folder.
