ProAiir Profile Stencil Astro
ProAiir Profile Stencils are designed to cover half a face in minutes. With this Astro Profile Stencil you place a sweet, playful character design on the side of the face. Place the stencil, press it down, airbrush, lift it off - done. Great for kids parties, festivals and workshops where you need a recognisable design quickly.
Note: these stencils are designed for use with an airbrush. Using a makeup sponge or finger sponge is possible, but the size of the stencil makes it more challenging.
What is the Profile Stencil Astro?
A reusable makeup stencil made from flexible, semi-transparent 7 mil mylar (approximately 0.18 mm thick). One character design per stencil: in this case the Astro character design cut into mylar as a half-face stencil for the side of the face, suited to children's and festive looks.
The colours shown in the product photos are examples. The colour that lands on the skin is your choice - use whichever face paint or makeup you like.
Why pick this stencil?
- Designed for airbrush. The stencil works with your ProAiir Hybrid, ProAiir Ink or Endura for the sharpest results. A damp sponge with face paint works too, but fine detail is harder to achieve given the stencil size.
- Quick character effect. A complete Astro look in 2 to 3 minutes. Perfect for busy kids parties and events where you have lots of faces to paint.
- Reusable. Mylar is durable and flexible. Clean it well and store it flat, and it will last for years.
- Follows the face shape. The mylar is thin and pliable, so it fits snugly against the cheek, forehead and nose bridge without the edges lifting.
How to use the stencil
- Place the stencil flat against one half of the face, with the eye cut-out positioned around the eye.
- Spray with the airbrush for the best, most detailed result. Or dab with a damp makeup sponge if you don't have an airbrush. Bear in mind that fine details are trickier given the size of the stencil.
- Lift the stencil straight off. Do not slide it across the skin or the lines will smear.
Tip with face paint: keep your sponge damp, not wet. Too much moisture and the paint seeps under the edges, leaving blurry lines.
Cleaning and storage
Used water-based face paint? Rinse the stencil under lukewarm water with mild soap. Pat it dry gently and lay it flat until completely dry. Do not roll or fold it - mylar gets permanent creases.
Used ProAiir Hybrid or Ink? Clean the stencil with 99.9% alcohol or ProAiir ProClean. These dissolve the alcohol-based makeup without causing the mylar to swell.
For storage: keep the stencil flat in a stencil rack or between two sheets of paper inside a flat folder.
