Diamond FX Splitcake Party Butterfly (50gr) - wax-based face paint
The Diamond FX Splitcake Party Butterfly (50gr) is a professional wax-based face paint designed for the One Stroke technique. With six carefully matched colours - black, neon magenta, pink, lavender, white and pastel blue - you create butterfly wings, fairy looks and princess designs in a single brushstroke. The wax base keeps colours from bleeding into each other, so you can build layers with ease. This 50g splitcake covers approximately 15 to 22 full faces.
Diamond FX is gluten-free, free from animal ingredients, parabens, fragrance and lanolin. The colours in this splitcake are a mix of Essential and Neon shades. The Essential shades (black, pink, lavender, white, pastel blue) are formulated with EU and FDA compliant cosmetic ingredients and suitable for the sensitive skin of children and adults. The Neon Magenta is independently skin-safety tested as a special-effects pigment. Browse all our other Diamond FX Splitcakes.

How to use Diamond FX face paint
Activate the face paint with a little clean water. Mist the splitcake with a spray bottle, or dip a well-squeezed sponge or damp brush directly into the colours. Clean water keeps your colours crisp and vibrant - use a water pot and refresh the water between colours.
Tips for a professional result
- Use the right brushes. The FBFX Face Paint Brushes are made specifically for face paint with smooth synthetic fibres that don't leave fluff. For detail work and wing outlines, reach for the FBFX Round Face Paint Brushes.
- Use the right sponge. For larger areas use a Yellow Face Paint Sponge. Latex foam sponges are not suitable for face paint.
- Keep your water clean. A water pot with fresh water next to your workspace prevents colours from mixing and going muddy.
- Barrier layer for sensitive skin or intense colours. Apply a thin layer of Marley Skin beforehand. This barrier makes removal easier and prevents staining from the neon magenta shade.
How to remove Diamond FX face paint
Remove with mild, non-moisturising soap and cool to lukewarm water. Hot water opens the pores and drives pigment deeper into skin - avoid it. Work the soap in gently and rinse thoroughly. Repeat until all the face paint is gone.
For a cleaner and quicker removal without scrubbing:
- Diamond FX Skin Soap - specially developed for removing Diamond FX face paint
- Remover Towel - a damp cloth that lifts face paint in one wipe, ideal at parties and events where you're painting lots of children one after another
What to use Diamond FX Splitcake Party Butterfly for
- Children's parties and birthdays - butterflies, fairies and princesses in one brushstroke, accessible even for less experienced painters
- One Stroke butterfly and wing designs - the colour gradient from pastel blue to neon magenta is built right into the splitcake
- Princess and fairy looks - lavender, white and pink give a soft, dreamy base colour for cheeks and eyes
- Events and children's workshops - the large 50g size handles busy days with lots of children
- UV/blacklight parties and neon events - the Neon Magenta glows under UV/blacklight for extra impact

Frequently asked questions
Why are there sometimes small cracks in the face paint?
Large temperature swings during storage or transport can cause the wax to expand and contract, leading to surface cracks. They normally disappear once you start using the paint. There is no effect on quality or shelf life.
Is Diamond FX safe for children?
The Essential shades in this splitcake (black, pink, lavender, white, pastel blue) are formulated with EU and FDA compliant cosmetic ingredients and suitable for the sensitive skin of children and adults. The Neon Magenta is independently skin-safety tested as a special-effects pigment. Always do a patch test 24 hours in advance on sensitive skin.
How many faces can you paint with 50g?
A 50g splitcake covers approximately 15 to 22 full faces, depending on layer thickness and technique.
What is the difference between Essential, Metallic and Neon?
Essential is matte base face paint. Metallic has a glossy shimmer finish. Neon colours glow under UV/blacklight - Neon Blue, Violet and White are semi-transparent under regular light and only become vivid under UV/blacklight; the other Neon colours are opaque and bold.
Can you apply Diamond FX over other colours?
Yes, that is one of its strengths. The wax base and high pigmentation mean the top colour covers without the underlying colour showing through. Product photos are taken under professional daylight lamps without colour adjustments. Colours may vary slightly depending on screen settings.
Compliant with EU Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009. Product photos are taken under professional lighting. Colours may differ slightly depending on your screen settings.
