How to use Diamond FX face paint
Activate the face paint with a small amount of clean water. Mist the pan lightly with a spray bottle, or use a well-squeezed sponge or damp brush. Clean water keeps colours bright and pure - use a water pot and refresh it regularly between colours.
Tips for a professional result
- Use the right brushes. The FBFX Face Paint Brushes are made for face paint with smooth synthetic bristles that won't leave fluff. For detail work and line art, reach for the FBFX Round Face Paint Brushes.
- Use the right sponge. For large areas use a Yellow Face Paint Sponge. Latex foam sponges are not suitable for face paint.
- Keep your water clean. A water pot with clean water next to your work station prevents colours from mixing or going dull.
- Barrier layer for sensitive skin or intense colours. Apply a thin layer of Marley Skin beforehand. This barrier makes removal easier and prevents staining with intense shades like turquoise, dark green or dark blue.
How to remove Diamond FX face paint
Remove with mild, non-moisturising soap and cool to lukewarm water. Hot water opens the pores and lets pigment sink deeper into the skin - avoid this. Gently work the soap in and rinse thoroughly. Repeat until all face paint is gone.
For a cleaner, quicker removal without scrubbing:
- Diamond FX Skin Soap - specially developed for removing Diamond FX face paint
- Remover Towel - a damp wipe that takes the paint off in one stroke, ideal at events and kids' parties where you're painting face after face

Frequently asked questions
Why are there sometimes small cracks in the face paint?
Large temperature changes during storage or transport can cause the wax to expand and contract, leading to surface cracks. They typically disappear once you start using the paint. There is no effect on quality or shelf life.
Is Diamond FX safe for children?
Yes, Diamond FX is gluten-free, fragrance-, paraben- and lanolin-free and contains no animal ingredients. The range is formulated with EU- and FDA-compliant cosmetic ingredients and suitable for the sensitive skin of children and adults. Always do a patch test 24 hours in advance for sensitive skin.
How many faces can you paint with 50 grams?
A 50 gram pan covers approximately 15 to 22 full faces, depending on layer thickness and technique.
What is the difference between Essential, Metallic and Neon?
Essential is matte base face paint. Metallic has a glossy shimmer finish. Neon colours glow under UV/blacklight - Neon Blue, Violet and White are semi-transparent under regular light and only come alive under UV/blacklight; the other Neon colours are opaque and vivid.
Can you apply Diamond FX over other colours?
Yes, that's one of its key strengths. The wax base and high pigmentation mean the top colour covers without the underlying colour showing through. Product photos are taken under professional daylight lamps without colour editing. Colours may vary slightly depending on your screen settings.
Compliant with EU Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009. Product photos are taken under professional lighting. Colours may differ slightly depending on your screen settings.
