How to use Diamond FX face paint
Activate the paint with a small amount of clean water. Mist the surface with a spray bottle or use a well-squeezed sponge or damp brush. Clean water keeps colours bright and true - use a water pot and refresh the water between colours.
Tips for a professional result
- Use the right brushes. The FBFX Face Painting Brushes are made for face paint with smooth synthetic fibres that leave no lint. For detail work and wing veins, reach for the FBFX Round Brushes.
- Use the right sponge. For large areas, work with a Yellow Face Paint Sponge. Latex foam sponges are not suitable for face paint.
- Keep your water clean. A water pot with fresh water prevents the green and metallic shades from looking dull or muddy.
- Barrier layer for sensitive skin or intense shades. Apply a thin layer of Marley Skin beforehand. This barrier makes removal easier and prevents staining from deep green pigments.
How to remove Diamond FX face paint
Remove with mild, non-moisturising soap and cool to lukewarm water. Hot water opens pores and lets pigment sink deeper into the skin - avoid it. Rub the soap in gently and rinse thoroughly. Repeat until all the paint is gone.
For a quicker, cleaner removal without scrubbing:
- Diamond FX Skin Soap - specially developed for removing Diamond FX face paint
- Remover Towel - a damp wipe that takes the paint off in one go, ideal at events and parties where you paint many children in a row
What to use Diamond FX Splitcake Dragon Fly for
- Children's face painting at parties and events - dragonflies, little dragons, frogs and butterflies in beautiful greens
- Jungle and nature themes - leaves, animals and insects in one stroke using the One Stroke technique
- Fancy dress and themed parties - complete green animal looks faster than with single colours
- Cosplay and fantasy - elf looks, fairy wings and dragon scales combining metallic and matte greens
- Theatre and shows - quick colour transitions for green characters and creature looks

Frequently asked questions
Why are there sometimes small cracks in the paint?
Large temperature changes during storage or transport can cause the wax to expand and contract, leading to surface cracks. They usually disappear with use. There is no effect on quality or shelf life.
Is Diamond FX safe for children?
Yes, Diamond FX Splitcake is gluten-free, fragrance-, paraben- and lanolin-free and contains no animal ingredients. The range is formulated with EU- and FDA-compliant cosmetic ingredients and suitable for the sensitive skin of children and adults. For sensitive skin, always do a patch test 24 hours in advance.
How many faces can you paint with 50g?
With a 50g splitcake you can paint approximately 15 to 22 full faces, depending on layer thickness and technique.
What is the difference between Essential, Metallic and Neon?
Essential is matte base face paint. Metallic has a glossy shimmer finish. Neon colours glow under UV/blacklight - Neon Blue, Violet and White are semi-transparent under regular light and only come alive under UV/blacklight; the other Neon colours are opaque and vivid.
Can you apply Diamond FX over other colours?
Yes, that is one of its strengths. The wax base and high pigmentation mean the top colour covers without the underlying colour showing through. Product photos were taken under professional daylight lamps without colour adjustment. Colours may vary slightly depending on screen settings.
Compliant with EU Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009. Product photos are taken under professional lighting. Colours may differ slightly depending on your screen settings.
