ProAiir Profile Stencil Gecko
The ProAiir Profile Stencils are built to get a half-face design done in no time. With this Gecko Profile Stencil you place a recognisable gecko character on the side of the face. Put the stencil on the face, press it flat, airbrush, lift the stencil off, done. Great for kids' parties, animal-themed events and workshops where you need to work quickly.
Note: these stencils are designed for use with the airbrush. Using a makeup sponge or finger sponge is possible too, but the size of the stencil makes it more challenging.
What is the Profile Stencil Gecko?
A reusable makeup stencil made from flexible, semi-transparent mylar, 7 mil thick (approximately 0.18 mm). One character design per stencil: in this case a gecko character design that sits on the side of the face, suited to animal and nature-themed work.
The colours shown in the product photos are examples. The colour that lands on the skin is whichever paint you choose to use.
Why pick this stencil?
- Built for airbrush. The stencil works with your ProAiir Hybrid, ProAiir Ink or Endura for the sharpest result. A damp sponge with face paint works too, but the size means finer detail becomes harder to achieve.
- Fast character effect. A complete gecko look in 2 to 3 minutes. Ideal at zoo events, kids' parties or workshops where you're painting dozens of faces.
- Reusable. Mylar is durable and flexible. Clean it properly and store it flat, and it will last for years.
- Follows the contours of the face. The mylar is thin and pliable, so it sits flush against the cheek, forehead and bridge of the nose without the edges lifting.
How to use the stencil
- Place the stencil flat against one half of the face, with the eye opening positioned around the eye.
- Spray with the airbrush for the best, most detailed result. Or dab with a damp makeup sponge if you don't have an airbrush. Bear in mind that fine detail is harder to achieve because of the stencil's size.
- Lift the stencil straight up. Don't slide it across the skin or the edges will smear.
Tip when using face paint: keep your sponge damp, not wet. Too much moisture and the paint seeps under the edges, making your lines blurry.
Cleaning and storage
Used water-activated face paint? Rinse the stencil under lukewarm water with mild soap. Pat it gently dry and leave it flat until fully dry. Don't roll it or fold it, or the mylar will get permanent creases.
Used ProAiir Hybrid or Ink? Clean the stencil with 99.9% alcohol or ProAiir ProClean. These dissolve the alcohol-based paint without swelling the mylar.
For storage: keep the stencil flat in a stencil rack or between two sheets of paper inside a flat folder.
