Woochie Latex Witch Hazel Ears
The Woochie Latex Witch Hazel Ears are a latex ear prosthetic from Woochie for a convincing witch look. Apply them over your own ears, colour them to match your skin tone or go for pale green, and your Halloween or fantasy look is complete.
What is the Witch Hazel Ears?
A latex prosthetic shaped like pointed witch ears that fit over your own ear. The edges are thinly finished so they blend smoothly into the skin. Remove carefully, clean, and store dry: you can use them multiple times.
Why does this prosthetic work so well?
No sculpting, no waiting for drying time, no liquid latex to build up layer by layer. The shape is already there. Your work is in blending the edges and painting it in. That is where you make the difference.
How do you apply the Witch Hazel Ears?
Hold the prosthetic dry against your ear first to find the right position. Do this before you apply any adhesive.
Apply a thin layer of skin adhesive to both the back of the prosthetic and your skin. Pros-Aide is the standard choice for long-lasting hold; for a quick application you can also use spirit gum. Let the adhesive go tacky before pressing the prosthetic onto the skin.
Press the prosthetic firmly from the centre outward to the edges. Blend the edges using liquid latex or Pros-Aide Cream. Several thin layers give the smoothest transition. Powder the edges well with setting powder before moving on to painting the prosthetic.
Painting
Colour the prosthetic with water-based, greasepaint or alcohol-activated face paint (such as Encore palettes). Work in thin layers. Match your skin tone for a subtle effect, or go for pale with a hint of green for a classic witch look.
Pro tip: Start with a thin base layer in your skin tone over the whole prosthetic. Then add a light green or grey shade into the hollows and creases for depth. This makes the prosthetic look realistically three-dimensional, even in photos.
Setting and removal
Set your colour work with setting powder so nothing smudges. To remove, work a Pros-Aide remover such as Mouldlife Life Wipes, Ben Nye Remove it All or Pro-clean Cleansing Oil under the edges, lift the prosthetic gently and rinse the skin with lukewarm water.
What can you use it for?
- Halloween witch looks, from classic to sinister
- Theatre and film productions with fantasy characters
- Cosplay as a witch, elf, fairy or elvish character
- Fantasy events, LARP and haunted attractions
- SFX shoots and practice work for make-up artists
