Woochie Latex Wolf Ears
The Woochie Latex Wolf Ears are a latex ear prosthetic by Woochie for wolf characters in cosplay, Halloween and fantasy. Stick them over your own ears, colour them to match your skin tone or character look, and your wolf character is complete.
What is the Wolf Ears?
A latex prosthetic in the shape of pointed wolf ears, designed to be worn over your own ears. The edges taper out thinly so they blend smoothly into your skin. Remove the prosthetics carefully after use, clean them and store them dry, and they can be used multiple times.
Why does this prosthetic work so well?
No kneading, no waiting for drying time, no liquid latex to build up layer by layer. The shape is already there. Your work goes into blending the edges and painting them in. That is where you make the difference.
How do you apply the Wolf Ears?
Hold the prosthetic dry against your ear first to find the right position. Do this before applying any adhesive.
Apply a thin layer of skin adhesive to both the back of the prosthetic and your skin. Pros-Aide is the standard for long-lasting hold; for a quick application you can also use spirit gum. Let the adhesive go tacky before pressing the prosthetic onto your skin.
Press the prosthetic firmly from the centre outwards to the edges. Blend the edges with liquid latex or Pros-Aide Cream. Several thin layers give the best transition. Powder the edges well with setting powder before you start painting the prosthetic.
Painting
Colour the prosthetic with water-activated face paint, greasepaint or alcohol-activated makeup (such as Encore palettes). Work in thin layers. Match the base colour to your skin tone for a subtle wolf effect, or go for a weathered grey-brown for a wilder look. Add dark shadows into the grooves of the ear and light highlights on the tips for extra depth.
Setting and removal
Set your colour work with setting powder so nothing runs. To remove, work a remover such as Mouldlife Life Wipes, Ben Nye Remove it All or Pro-clean Cleansing Oil under the edges, lift the prosthetic gently and rinse your skin with lukewarm water afterwards.
