Diamond FX Essential Pus 30gr - wax-based face paint

The Diamond FX Essential Pus 30gr is a professional wax-based face paint known for its high pigmentation and strong coverage. The wax base lets you build up layers without colours bleeding into each other. With this 30g pot you can paint 10 to 15 full faces.

Diamond FX Essential is hypoallergenic, gluten-free, and free from animal ingredients, parabens, fragrance, and lanolin. The Essential range is formulated with EU- and FDA-compliant cosmetic ingredients and is suitable for the skin of children and adults. Browse all our other Diamond FX Essential colours.

How to use Diamond FX face paint

Activate the face paint with a small amount of clean water. Mist the surface with a spray bottle, or use a well-wrung sponge or damp brush. Clean water keeps your colours sharp and vibrant - use a water bowl and refresh the water between colours.

Tips for a professional result

  • Use the right brushes. The FBFX Face Paint Brushes are made specifically for water-activated face paint with smooth synthetic hairs that don't leave fluff. For detail work and fine lines, reach for the FBFX Round Face Paint Brushes.
  • Use the right sponge. For large areas, work with a Yellow Face Paint Sponge. Latex foam sponges are not suitable for water-activated face paint.
  • Keep your water clean. A bowl of fresh water next to your workspace stops colours from mixing and going dull.
  • Barrier layer for sensitive skin or intense colours. Apply a thin layer of Marley Skin before painting. This barrier makes removal easier and prevents staining from intense pigments.

How to remove Diamond FX face paint

Remove the face paint with mild, non-moisturising soap and cool to lukewarm water. Hot water opens the pores and lets pigment sink deeper into the skin - avoid it. Gently work the soap in and rinse thoroughly. Repeat until all the paint is gone.

For a quicker and cleaner finish without scrubbing:

  • Diamond FX Skin Soap - specially developed for removing Diamond FX face paint
  • Remover Towel - a pre-moistened wipe that takes off face paint in one sweep, ideal at events and children's parties

What to use Diamond FX Essential Pus for

  • SFX and theatre - realistic pus and wound effects for stage and film productions
  • Children's face painting at parties and events - safe, quick to apply, and easy to remove
  • Cosplay and character make-up - base colour for creature looks and undead characters
  • Body painting - layer with other Essential shades for detailed SFX compositions

Frequently asked questions

Why are there sometimes small cracks in the face paint?

Large temperature differences during storage or transport can cause the wax to expand and contract, leading to surface cracks. They usually disappear as soon as you start using the product. There is no effect on quality or shelf life.

Is Diamond FX safe for children?

Yes, Diamond FX Essential is hypoallergenic, fragrance-, paraben-, and lanolin-free, gluten-free, and contains no animal-derived ingredients. The Essential range meets EU and FDA cosmetic regulations. Always do a patch test 24 hours in advance for sensitive skin.

How many faces can you paint with 30g?

A 30g pot covers approximately 10 to 15 full faces, depending on layer thickness and technique.

What is the difference between Essential, Metallic, and Neon?

Essential is a matte base face paint. Metallic has a glossy shimmer finish. Neon colours glow under UV/blacklight - Neon Blue, Violet, and White are semi-transparent in regular light and only come to life under blacklight; the other Neon shades are opaque and vivid.

Can you apply Diamond FX over other colours?

Yes, that is actually one of its strengths. The wax base and high pigmentation mean the top colour covers without the underlying colour showing through. Product photos are taken under professional daylight lamps without colour adjustment. Colours may vary slightly depending on your screen settings.
