Diamond FX Essential Black Eye 30gr - wax-based face paint

The Diamond FX Essential Black Eye 30gr is a professional wax-based face paint known for its high pigmentation and strong coverage. The wax base lets you build up layers without colours bleeding into each other. With this 30g pot you can paint 10 to 15 full faces.

Diamond FX Essential is hypoallergenic, gluten-free, and free from animal-derived ingredients, parabens, fragrance and lanolin. The Essential range is formulated with EU- and FDA-compliant cosmetic ingredients, suitable for the skin of children and adults alike. Browse all our Diamond FX Essential colours.

How to use Diamond FX face paint

Activate the face paint with a small amount of clean water. Mist the surface lightly with a spray bottle, or use a well-squeezed sponge or damp brush. Clean water keeps colours pure and vivid - use a water pot and refresh the water between colours.

Tips for a professional result

  • Use the right brushes. The FBFX Face Paint Brushes are designed specifically for face paint with soft synthetic bristles that don't shed. For detail work and lines, reach for the FBFX Round Face Paint Brushes.
  • Use the right sponge. For large areas, work with a Yellow Face Paint Sponge. Latex foam sponges are not suitable for face paint.
  • Keep your water clean. A water pot with fresh water next to your workspace prevents colours from muddying or dulling.
  • Barrier layer for sensitive skin or intense colours. Apply a thin layer of Marley Skin beforehand. This barrier makes removal easier and prevents staining with intense colours like turquoise, dark green or dark blue.

How to remove Diamond FX face paint

Remove with mild, non-moisturising soap and cool to lukewarm water. Hot water opens pores and lets pigment sink deeper into the skin - avoid it. Work the soap in gently and rinse thoroughly. Repeat until all face paint is gone.

For a quicker, scrub-free removal:

  • Diamond FX Skin Soap - specially developed for removing Diamond FX face paint
  • Remover Towel - a damp cloth that lifts face paint in one wipe, ideal at events and children's parties where you're painting multiple faces in a row

What to use Diamond FX Essential Black Eye for

  • Children's face painting - birthdays, school events and parties: eye outlines, whiskers and accents for animals, superheroes and monsters
  • Body painting competitions and performances - high pigment that stays crisp and opaque on the skin
  • Halloween and themed events - witches, bats, gothic looks, skulls and animal prints
  • Cosplay and character makeup - eye outlines, stubble and line work over other colours
  • Theatre and SFX - base black for accents, shadows and fine details

Frequently asked questions

Why are there sometimes small cracks in the face paint?

Large temperature changes during storage or transport can cause the wax to expand and contract, resulting in surface cracks. They typically disappear once you start using the product. There is no effect on quality or shelf life.

Is Diamond FX safe for children?

Yes, Diamond FX Essential is hypoallergenic, fragrance-, paraben- and lanolin-free, gluten-free and contains no animal-derived ingredients. The Essential range meets EU and FDA cosmetics guidelines. For sensitive skin, always do a patch test 24 hours beforehand.

How many faces can you paint with 30g?

A 30g pot covers approximately 10 to 15 full faces, depending on layer thickness and technique.

What is the difference between Essential, Metallic and Neon?

Essential is a matte base face paint. Metallic has a glossy shimmer finish. Neon colours glow under UV/blacklight - Neon Blue, Violet and White are semi-transparent under regular light and only come alive under UV/blacklight; the other Neon colours are opaque and vivid.

Can you apply Diamond FX over other colours?

Yes, that is one of its key strengths. The wax base and high pigmentation mean the top colour covers without the underlying colour showing through. Product photos are taken under professional daylight lamps without colour editing. Colours may vary slightly depending on your screen settings.
