How to use Diamond FX face paint
Activate the face paint with a little clean water. Mist the surface lightly with a spray bottle, or use a well-squeezed sponge or damp brush. Clean water keeps colours bright and true - use a water bowl and change the water between colours.
Tips for a professional result
- Use the right brushes. The FBFX Face Paint Brushes are designed specifically for water-activated face paint with soft synthetic hairs that don't leave fibres behind. For fine detail work, use the FBFX Round Face Paint Brushes.
- Use the right sponge. For large areas, work with a Yellow Face Painting Sponge. Latex foam sponges are not suitable for water-activated face paint.
- Keep your water clean. A water bowl with clean water at your side prevents colours from mixing or becoming dull.
- Barrier layer for sensitive skin or intense colours. Apply a thin layer of Marley Skin beforehand. This barrier makes removal easier and prevents staining (pigment residue) with colours that can penetrate deeply into the skin.
How to remove Diamond FX face paint
Remove with mild, non-moisturising soap and cold to lukewarm water. Hot water opens the pores and allows pigment to sink deeper into the skin - avoid this. Gently rub in the soap and rinse thoroughly. Repeat until all the face paint is gone.
For a cleaner, quicker removal without scrubbing:
- Diamond FX Skin Soap - specially developed for removing Diamond FX face paint
- Remover Towel - a moist wipe that takes off face paint in one wipe, ideal at events and children's parties where you're painting many faces in a row

Frequently asked questions
Why are there sometimes small cracks in the face paint?
Large temperature fluctuations during storage or transport can cause the wax to expand and contract, leading to surface cracks. They typically disappear once you start using the paint. There is no effect on quality or shelf life.
Is Diamond FX safe for children?
Yes, Diamond FX Essential is hypoallergenic, fragrance-, paraben- and lanolin-free, gluten-free and contains no animal-derived ingredients. The Essential range complies with EU and FDA cosmetics regulations. For sensitive skin, always do a patch test 24 hours beforehand.
How many faces can you paint with 30gr?
With a 30gr pot you can paint approximately 10 to 15 full faces, depending on layer thickness and technique.
What is the difference between Essential, Metallic and Neon?
Essential is a matte base face paint. Metallic has a glossy shimmer finish. Neon colours glow under UV/blacklight - Neon Blue, Violet and White are semi-transparent under regular light and only become vivid under blacklight; the other Neon colours are opaque and bright.
Can you apply Diamond FX over other colours?
Yes, that is one of its strengths. The wax base and high pigmentation mean the top colour covers without the underlying colour showing through. Product photos are taken under professional daylight lamps without colour editing. Colours may vary slightly depending on your screen settings.
Compliant with EU Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009. Product photos are taken under professional lighting. Colours may differ slightly depending on your screen settings.
