How to use Diamond FX face paint
Activate the face paint with a small amount of clean water. Mist the surface lightly using a spray bottle, or use a well-squeezed sponge or damp brush. Clean water keeps colours vivid and true - use a water pot and refresh it between colours.
Tips for a professional result
- Use the right brushes. FBFX Face Paint Brushes are designed specifically for water-activated face paint with soft synthetic bristles that won't shed. For detail work and line art, reach for the FBFX Round Face Paint Brushes.
- Use the right sponge. For covering large areas, use a Yellow Face Paint Sponge. Latex foam sponges are not suitable for water-activated face paints.
- Keep your water clean. A water pot with fresh water next to your workspace stops colours from muddying or going dull.
- Barrier layer for sensitive skin or intense colours. Apply a thin layer of Marley Skin beforehand. This barrier makes removal easier and prevents staining with intense shades like dark green, turquoise or dark blue.
How to remove Diamond FX face paint
Remove with a mild, non-moisturising soap and cool to lukewarm water. Hot water opens the pores and lets pigment sink deeper into the skin - avoid it. Gently work the soap in and rinse thoroughly. Repeat until all face paint is gone.
For a cleaner and quicker removal without scrubbing:
- Diamond FX Skin Soap - developed specifically for removing Diamond FX face paint
- Remover Towel - a pre-moistened wipe that takes off face paint in one sweep, ideal at events and children's parties where you're painting face after face

Frequently asked questions
Why are there sometimes small cracks in the face paint?
Large temperature changes during storage or transport can cause the wax to expand and contract, resulting in surface cracks. They usually disappear as soon as you start using the paint. There is no effect on quality or shelf life.
Is Diamond FX safe for children?
Yes, Diamond FX Essential is hypoallergenic, fragrance-, paraben- and lanolin-free, gluten-free and contains no animal-derived ingredients. The Essential range complies with EU and FDA cosmetics regulations. For sensitive skin, always do a patch test 24 hours in advance.
How many faces can you paint with 30g?
A 30g pot gives you approximately 10 to 15 full faces, depending on layer thickness and technique.
What is the difference between Essential, Metallic and Neon?
Essential is matte base face paint. Metallic has a glossy shimmer finish. Neon colours glow under UV/blacklight - Neon Blue, Violet and White are semi-transparent under regular light and only come to life under UV/blacklight; the remaining Neon colours are opaque and vivid.
Can you apply Diamond FX over other colours?
Yes, that is one of its key strengths. The wax base and high pigmentation mean the top colour covers without the underlying colour showing through. Product photos are taken under professional daylight lamps without colour editing. Colours may vary slightly depending on your screen settings.
Compliant with EU Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009. Product photos are taken under professional lighting. Colours may differ slightly depending on your screen settings.
