Which discolourations and tattoos can you cover with this wheel?
This wheel is put together for two specific coverage needs: dark blue tattoo ink and blue or purple skin discolourations such as bruises or visible veins. The blue neutraliser (NB-4 Blue Neutralizer No.4) and yellow undertone (MY-3 Mellow Yellow Classic) take care of the first step.
You then finish with the skin tone (NT-2 Tattoo Cover No.2) or the lighter cover-up (CC-1 Coverette Cover-Up Ultra Fair), building coverage layer by layer until the tattoo or discolouration disappears.
When do you choose this wheel over a standard concealer?
Standard concealers simply don't have the pigment density that tattoo ink requires. This wheel contains high-pigment crème makeup that covers even dark or detailed tattoos in just a few layers. It's the right choice when you need a professional finish without endless build-up.
The combination of neutralising colours and opaque skin tones in one compact palette makes it equally practical for bridal work, TV, film or any situation where tattoos need to disappear temporarily.
How to use it
Start with the neutralising step: apply the yellow tint (MY-3) over any blue ink using a latex foam sponge or your fingertips. Follow with the skin tone and build coverage using light tapping motions. For crisp edges, use a fine brush. Want a sheerer finish? Mix the crème on a palette with a small amount of 99% alcohol for a lighter layer.
Pro tip: Always apply the neutraliser as layer one, otherwise you're just masking the blue rather than cancelling it. Lay down MY-3 or NB-4 first, set with powder, then finish with NT-2 or CC-1 for the final skin tone.
Setting and removing
Crème makeup always needs to be set with a setting powder. Apply with a powder puff and knock away any excess with a powder brush. Without setting, the colours will transfer easily, especially with heat or touch.
Remove with an oil- or fat-based makeup remover such as Ben Nye Quick Cleanse. Water and soap alone are not sufficient for crème makeup.
