Ben Nye Monster Wheel
The Ben Nye Monster Wheel is a compact cream makeup palette with six dead and supernatural shades for monster and horror character work. The soft grease paint formula is highly pigmented, easy to blend, and long-lasting on the skin.
- Cream grease paint, not water-activated
- 6 horror shades: white, maroon, violet, green, cadaver grey, and spirit blue
- Highly pigmented, soft blendable formula
- Works on skin, latex, gelatine, wax, silicone, and prosthetics
- Contents: 28 g (1 oz)
What monster and horror looks can you create with this wheel?
The six shades are matched to classic horror characters: zombies, ghosts, monsters, and deathly pale figures. White and Cadaver Gray build the base for corpse and ghost looks. Sallow Green and Blue Spirit give an undead or supernatural quality, while Misty Violet and Maroon add depth and bruise tones.
Need darker shadows, skull effects, or extra ageing tones? Combine this wheel with the Ben Nye Death Wheel for a more complete horror palette.
When do you choose this wheel over individual colours?
All six shades are thematically matched and ready to use as a set. There's no need to hunt down separate colours for a solid monster look.
Choose this wheel if you regularly switch between several horror tones and want to work compactly without individual pots. It's well suited to Halloween events, haunted attractions, theatre, and film.
How to use it
Apply the cream make-up with a Mehron Latex Foam Sponge for soft stippled transitions, or use your fingers for warm blending. For sharp lines and details, work with a fine make-up brush. If you want a more translucent layer, mix the grease paint on a palette with a drop of 99% alcohol before applying.
Pro tip: Start with a thin layer of White or Cadaver Gray across the face as a base. Blend Sallow Green onto the cheekbones and forehead, then work the eye hollows with Misty Violet and Blue Spirit for a convincing undead depth.
Setting and removing
Set grease paint with a setting powder. Apply with a powder puff directly after the make-up and dust away any excess with a soft brush. This makes the make-up less tacky and more resistant to smudging.
Removal works best with an oil- or cream-based make-up remover, such as Ben Nye Quick Cleanse. Water and soap alone don't cut through grease paint reliably.
What can you use it for?
- Halloween looks: zombies, ghosts, monsters, and vampires
- Haunted houses and Halloween events
- Theatre and film productions with horror characters
- SFX base layers on latex, gelatine, wax, and prosthetics
- Cosplay with creature or undead themes
