How to use Diamond FX face paint
Activate the face paint with a small amount of clean water. Spritz a fine mist onto the surface using a spray bottle, or use a well-squeezed sponge or damp brush. Clean water keeps colours clear and vibrant - work with a water pot and refresh it between colours.
Tips for a professional result
- Use the right brushes. The FBFX Face Paint Brushes are made specifically for face paint with soft synthetic bristles that don't leave fluff behind. For detail work and fine accents, reach for the FBFX Round Face Paint Brushes.
- Use the right sponge. For large areas, work with a Yellow Face Paint Sponge. Latex foam sponges are not suitable for face paint.
- Keep your water clean. A water pot with fresh water next to your workspace prevents colours from mixing or going dull.
- Barrier layer for sensitive skin or intense colours. Apply a thin layer of Marley Skin beforehand. This barrier makes removal easier and prevents staining from intense shades.
How to remove Diamond FX face paint
Remove the face paint with a mild, non-moisturising soap and cool to lukewarm water. Hot water opens the pores, allowing pigment to sink deeper into the skin - you want to avoid that. Gently work the soap in and rinse well. Repeat until all the face paint is gone.
For a cleaner and quicker finish without scrubbing:
- Diamond FX Skin Soap - developed specifically for removing Diamond FX face paint
- Remover Towel - a damp wipe that takes the face paint off in one sweep, ideal at events and children's parties where you're painting many faces in a row

Frequently asked questions
Why are there sometimes small cracks in the face paint?
Large temperature changes during storage or transport can cause the wax to expand and contract, leading to surface cracks. They usually disappear once you start using the product. There is no effect on quality or shelf life.
Is Diamond FX safe for children?
Yes, Diamond FX Metallic is hypoallergenic, fragrance-, paraben- and lanolin-free, gluten-free and contains no animal-derived ingredients. The Metallic range meets EU and FDA cosmetics guidelines. Always do a patch test 24 hours in advance for sensitive skin.
How many faces can you paint with 30 grams?
A 30-gram pot covers approximately 10 to 15 full faces, depending on layer thickness and technique.
What is the difference between Essential, Metallic and Neon?
Essential is a matte base face paint. Metallic has a glossy shimmer finish. Neon colours glow under UV/blacklight - Neon Blue, Violet and White are semi-transparent under regular light and only come alive under UV/blacklight; the other Neon colours are opaque and vivid.
Can you apply Diamond FX over other colours?
Yes, that is one of its strongest points. The wax base and high pigmentation mean the top colour covers without the underlying colour showing through. Product photos are taken under professional daylight lamps without colour editing. Colours may vary slightly depending on your screen settings.
Compliant with EU Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009. Product photos are taken under professional lighting. Colours may differ slightly depending on your screen settings.
