Burnt Coral is ideal as a base colour for burnt skin, heat marks and coral-toned wounds. The shade sits right in that warm reddish-orange range that reads instantly as realistic skin damage. Use it as a first layer under deeper tones, or blend it out around a prosthetic wound edge.
It pairs well with deeper browns and reds for layered burn effects, or with lighter skin tones for softer redness like sunburn or early-stage bruising.
When do you choose a single pot over a palette?
If Burnt Coral is your go-to shade for burn or wound effects, a single pot makes more sense than a palette you only dip into once or twice. Choose this pot when it's your primary working colour and you already have the rest of your kit sorted.

How to use it
Activate with a slightly damp brush or sponge. The talc base picks up water a little more slowly than glycerine-based paints, so add water gradually until you reach the consistency you want. It dries in seconds and holds for hours without a fixative.
Pro tip: Apply Burnt Coral as your base layer, blend Dark Crimson or Brown-Black along the edges for depth, then stipple Maroon into the centre for a convincing burn core.
Setting and removing
For extra durability or heavy sweating, seal with Ben Nye Final Seal. To remove, soap and water works fine, or use a gentle makeup remover for faster clean-up.
