Which looks can you create with Cloud White?
Cloud White covers the classic white looks: a full clown base, pale vampire, sharp mime or a ghostly character face. Use it as a solid opaque layer or work it in as a highlight to brighten up other colours.
It also works brilliantly underneath brighter shades. Laying Cloud White first keeps colours vivid and punchy, even on deeper or ruddier skin tones.
When does a single pot make more sense than a palette?
If you already have the rest of your colours sorted, a solo pot of Cloud White makes a lot of sense. White tends to run out first in clown and children's face painting work, while the other shades in a palette still have plenty left. A separate pot keeps costs down without sacrificing quality.
It also pairs nicely with glycerin-based palettes you already own. The matte finish of MagiCake sits well alongside theatre grimes that need a flat, non-reflective result.
How to use it
Activate with a slightly damp brush or sponge. The talc formula absorbs water slightly more slowly than glycerin paints, so add a small extra drop for smooth, even coverage. Cloud White dries within seconds and stays put from there.
Pro tip: Apply Cloud White as an underbase beneath bright reds or yellows on deeper skin tones. It boosts the top colour immediately, so you get full coverage in one layer rather than building it up.
Setting and removing
Cloud White holds well for several hours on its own, but for theatre productions or outdoor events you can lock it in with Ben Nye Final Seal. To remove, warm water and soap work fine, or use a gentle makeup remover for a quicker clean-up.
