Calypso Blue is a clear, cool blue that works brilliantly for mermaid looks, unicorns, fairies and other fantasy themes. It's also a strong base colour for fancy dress or Carnival costumes where blue is the main focus.
The high pigmentation means you rarely need more than one layer. Pair with face glitter or Precious Gem Powder for an instant sparkly fantasy finish.
When should you choose a single pot over a palette?
Go for this pot if you already have Calypso Blue in your kit and need a refill, or if you're building a custom set from individual colours. The talc base delivers stronger coverage than glycerin-based face paints like Mehron Paradise or Diamond FX.
How to use it
Activate with a slightly damp brush or sponge. The talc base absorbs water a little more slowly than glycerin face paint, so use slightly more water than you might expect. It dries within seconds.
Pro tip: For a mermaid look, apply Calypso Blue as your base and then press Precious Gem Powder or fine face glitter over the cheeks while the paint is still slightly damp. It sticks without any extra glue.
Setting and removing
The face paint holds for several hours without a fixative. For extra security at a long event, spray a layer of Ben Nye Final Seal over the finished look. To remove, wash off with soap and water or use a gentle makeup remover.
