Which clown and fancy dress looks can you create with Bright Red?
Bright Red is the go-to primary red for clown noses, cheeks and lips. It also works brilliantly for children's face painting and superhero looks - a clean, true red with no orange or pink undertone.
Pair it with Cloud White for a classic clown, or with Licorice Black for a devil or Spiderman look. For wound effects, Fresh Cut or Dark Crimson are better starting points.
When does a single pot make more sense than a palette?
Choose this pot if you go through a lot of red and don't need a full palette. Face painters who do children's parties regularly burn through one colour much faster than the others - a separate pot keeps you topped up without replacing an entire set.
If you also need white, black, blue, yellow and green, the Primary Palette is the better choice. It already includes Bright Red as one of its eight core colours.
How to use it
Activate with a slightly damp brush or sponge. Talc-based paints absorb water a little more slowly than glycerin-based ones, so use a touch more water for a smooth application. It dries within seconds.
Pro tip: For a crisp clown mouth, lay down a base of Cloud White first, let it dry, then draw the lips over the top in Bright Red. The colour stays true and the two shades won't bleed into each other.
Setting and removing
Set with Ben Nye Final Seal for extra staying power during outdoor events or active wear. Remove with soap and water, or use a face paint remover for a quicker clean-up.
