Key-Pigments Silicone Pigment Warm Flesh, 50g

Key-Pigments Silicone Pigment Warm Flesh is a highly concentrated pigment for colouring platinum silicone to a ready-to-use warm, rosy skin tone. The Key-Pigments colour system was developed by SFX legend Neill Gorton to deliver consistent, lifelike skin tones across multiple prosthetic batches.

  • Ready-to-use warm, rosy skin tone - no extra mixing needed
  • Developed by Neill Gorton for SFX prosthetics
  • 50g bottle, enough for numerous prosthetic projects
  • Consistent colour results batch to batch
  • Compatible with all common platinum silicones including PlatSil Gel and Sculpt Gel

What are Key-Pigments Silicone Pigments?

Key-Pigments are colour pastes formulated specifically for platinum silicone. You blend them into your silicone mix before curing - so the colour disperses evenly and cures uniformly. Unlike mixing raw base colours yourself, the Flesh variants are already tuned to different skin types straight out of the bottle. That saves time and gives you reliable continuity across multiple batches.

The Key-Pigments range covers four direct skin tones (Pale Flesh, Warm Flesh, Medium Flesh, Dark Flesh) and two mixing bases (Red Iron and Yellow Ochre) for fine-tuning undertones.

When do you choose Key-Pigments Warm Flesh?

Warm Flesh is the go-to for medium-warm skin tones with a rosy, living quality - the kind of result you need for realistic SFX prosthetics on Caucasian or warm olive complexions. Because it's already balanced, you can use it straight from the bottle without trial-and-error mixing on the day of a shoot or production.

Choose this pigment when you need to match the same skin tone across multiple pieces or multiple production days. The concentrated formula means even a small amount delivers strong, consistent colour - and a 50g bottle goes a long way on most prosthetic projects.

How to use Key-Pigments Warm Flesh

  1. Add the pigment to Part B of your platinum silicone before mixing with Part A. This preserves your full working time to distribute the colour evenly, while keeping cure time consistent.
  2. Start with a single drop and build up gradually until you reach the depth of colour you want.
  3. Using deadener for skin-like flexibility? Add the pigment to Part B and the Smiths Prosthetic Deadener to Part A, then combine both parts afterwards.
  4. Use a separate spatula or mixing stick for each colour to avoid cross-contamination between pots.
  5. Test your mix on a small sample before colouring a full batch of silicone.

Important tips

  • Keep your dosage around 0.5% of total silicone weight for optimal dispersion without curing issues.
  • Dose carefully: these pigments are so concentrated that a drop too many can make your mix unworkably dark.
  • Store the bottle tightly sealed in a cool, dry place.
  • Shake or stir before use to resuspend any settled pigment.
