What is PlatSil Gel-10?
PlatSil Gel-10 is a soft, translucent platinum-cure silicone rubber with a Shore A10 hardness. That means it is firm enough to hold its shape, yet soft enough to feel convincingly like skin. You mix it in a 1:1 ratio (Part A and Part B, by weight or volume) and have six minutes of working time before it starts to cure.
Adding Smiths Prosthetic Deadener makes the cured piece even softer and more flexible. This is especially useful for prosthetics placed on moving areas such as the neck, mouth or eyelids.

How to use PlatSil Gel-10
- Add silicone pigment to Part B before combining with Part A. This keeps your full working time intact so you can distribute the colour evenly before the cure begins.
- Using Deadener for skin-like flexibility? Add the Deadener to Part A, then combine both parts. Up to 300% Deadener is possible; more Deadener does extend cure time.
- Mix Part A and Part B in a 1:1 ratio (by weight or volume) until fully homogeneous.
- Pour or apply into your mould or onto the skin within the six-minute working window.
- Wait 30 to 60 minutes before demoulding or removal.
