Mouldlife Silicone Pigment Red is a highly concentrated pigment for colouring platinum silicones such as Polytek PlatSil Gel or Mouldlife Sculpt Gel. A single drop is enough to tint a whole batch a deep red, making it ideal for fake wounds or as a base for darker skin tones.
- Highly concentrated red silicone pigment, 100 g
- Compatible with all common platinum silicones
- Mixable with the other 8 colours in the range
- Industry standard for prosthetic SFX worldwide
- One drop delivers deep, saturated colour
What are Mouldlife Silicone Pigments?
Silicone Pigments are colour pastes formulated specifically for platinum silicone systems. You mix them into your silicone before it cures, so the colour disperses fully and stays permanent once the silicone has set.
The Mouldlife range includes nine colours you can blend with each other to reach virtually any shade. White, Black, Red, Yellow, Blue and Green cover every primary mix, while Brown, Dark Flesh and Light Flesh let you work directly in skin tones without blending.
Why choose Mouldlife Silicone Pigment?
The concentration is unusually high: one small drop is enough for a deep, saturated result. That means a single 100 g pot goes a long way, even across large production runs with many prosthetics.
Choose this pigment if you work with platinum-silicone prosthetics and need reliable, batch-consistent colour. All nine shades are compatible with each other, so you can mix custom skin tones or effect colours without switching systems.
How to use Silicone Pigment Red
- Add the pigment to Part B of your platinum silicone before combining it with Part A. This keeps your full working time available to blend the colour evenly without rushing the cure.
- Start with a single drop and build up gradually until you reach the depth you want.
- Working with a deadener for skin-like flexibility? Add the pigment to Part B and the deadener to Part A, then combine both afterwards.
- Use a separate spatula or mixing stick for each colour to avoid cross-contaminating the pots.
- Test your mix on a small sample batch before committing to a large pour.
Key tips
- Keep your dosage around 0.5% of the total silicone weight for optimal dispersion without curing issues.
- Be precise: these pigments are so concentrated that one drop too many can make your mix unusably dark.
- Store the pot tightly closed in a cool, dry place.
- Shake or stir the pigment before use to re-integrate any settled pigment.
