What are Mouldlife Silicone Pigments?
Silicone Pigments are colour pastes formulated specifically for platinum silicone systems. You mix them into your silicone before curing, and they disperse fully through the material, remaining permanently visible once the silicone has set.
The Mouldlife range covers nine colours you can intermix to reach virtually any shade. White, Black, Red, Yellow, Blue and Green cover the primaries, while Brown, Dark Flesh and Light Flesh give you ready-mixed skin tones without any blending work.
Why choose Mouldlife Silicone Pigment?
Light Flesh is one of three ready-to-use skin tones in the range. It works as a direct base for fair skin prosthetics, or as a lightening agent when blending with Dark Flesh or Brown. One small drop goes a long way, so the 100g jar covers a large number of pieces before you need to restock.
Choose this pigment when you need a consistent, repeatable light skin tone across multiple casts of the same prosthetic. The concentration stays stable batch to batch, so your colour matching stays reliable on set.
How to use Silicone Pigment Light Flesh
- Add the pigment to Part B of your platinum silicone before combining with Part A. This keeps your pot life intact while you blend the colour evenly through the material.
- Start with a single drop and build up gradually until you reach the depth you want.
- Working with a deadener for skin-like flexibility? Add the pigment to Part B and the deadener to Part A, then combine the two.
- Use a separate spatula or mixing stick for each colour to avoid cross-contamination between jars.
- Test your mix on a small sample before committing to a full silicone batch.
Tips for best results
- Keep dosage around 0.5% of total silicone weight for even dispersion without curing issues.
- These pigments are highly concentrated, so a drop too many can make a batch unexpectedly dark.
- Store the jar tightly sealed in a cool, dry place.
- Shake or stir the pigment before use to re-incorporate any settled material.
