How to use Diamond FX face paint
Activate the face paint with a small amount of clean water. Mist the surface lightly with a spray bottle, or pick up colour with a well-wrung sponge or damp brush. Clean water keeps colours bright and true - use a water bowl and rinse between colours.
Tips for a professional result
- Use the right brushes. The FBFX Face Paint Brushes are designed specifically for water-activated face paint with smooth synthetic bristles that leave no lint. For detail work and fine lines, reach for the FBFX Round Face Paint Brushes.
- Use the right sponge. For large areas, work with a Yellow Face Paint Sponge. Latex foam sponges are not suitable for water-activated face paint.
- Keep your water clean. A water bowl with fresh water next to your workspace prevents colours from mixing and turning muddy.
- Protective layer for sensitive skin or intense colours. Apply a thin layer of Marley Skin beforehand. This barrier layer makes removal easier and prevents staining with intense shades like turquoise, dark green or dark blue.
How to remove Diamond FX face paint
Remove the face paint with a mild, non-moisturising soap and cool to lukewarm water. Hot water opens the pores and allows pigment to sink deeper into the skin - avoid this. Work the soap in gently and rinse well. Repeat until all the face paint is gone.
For a cleaner and faster removal without scrubbing:
- Diamond FX Skin Soap - developed specifically for removing Diamond FX face paint
- Remover Towel - a damp wipe that takes the face paint off in one swipe, ideal at events and children's parties where you're painting many faces in a row

Frequently asked questions
Why are there sometimes small cracks in the face paint?
Large temperature fluctuations during storage or transport can cause the wax to expand and contract, resulting in surface cracks. They usually disappear on their own once you start using the pot. There is no effect on quality or shelf life.
Is Diamond FX safe for children?
Yes, Diamond FX Essential is hypoallergenic, fragrance-, paraben- and lanolin-free, gluten-free and contains no animal-derived ingredients. The Essential range meets EU and FDA cosmetics guidelines. Always do a patch test 24 hours in advance for sensitive skin.
How many faces can you paint with 30g?
A 30g pot covers approximately 10 to 15 full faces, depending on layer thickness and technique.
What is the difference between Essential, Metallic and Neon?
Essential is a matte base face paint. Metallic has a glossy shimmer finish. Neon colours glow under UV/blacklight - Neon Blue, Violet and White are semi-transparent in regular light and only become vivid under blacklight; the other Neon shades are opaque and bright.
Can you apply Diamond FX over other colours?
Yes, that is one of its key strengths. The wax base and high pigmentation mean the top colour covers cleanly without the underlying colour showing through. Product photos are taken under professional daylight lamps without colour editing. Colours may vary slightly depending on your screen settings.
Compliant with EU Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009. Product photos are taken under professional lighting. Colours may differ slightly depending on your screen settings.
