Diamond FX Essential Blood 30gr - wax-based face paint

The Diamond FX Essential Blood 30gr is a professional wax-based face paint known for its high pigmentation and strong coverage. The wax base lets you build up layers without colours bleeding into each other. With this 30g pot you can paint 10 to 15 full faces.

Diamond FX Essential is hypoallergenic, gluten-free, and free from animal ingredients, parabens, fragrance and lanolin. The Essential range is formulated with EU- and FDA-compliant cosmetic ingredients and suitable for the skin of both children and adults. Browse all our other Diamond FX Essential colours.

How to use Diamond FX face paint

Activate the face paint with a small amount of clean water. Mist the surface with a spray bottle, or use a well-squeezed sponge or damp brush. Clean water keeps colours vivid and pure - use a water pot and refresh the water between colours.

Tips for a professional result

  • Use the right brushes. The FBFX Face Paint Brushes are made specifically for water-activated face paint with soft synthetic bristles that don't shed. For detail work and line art, grab the FBFX Round Face Paint Brushes.
  • Use the right sponge. For large areas, use a Yellow Face Paint Sponge. Latex foam sponges are not suitable for water-activated face paint.
  • Keep your water clean. A pot of clean water next to your workspace prevents colours from muddying or turning dull.
  • Barrier layer for sensitive skin or intense colours. Apply a thin layer of Marley Skin beforehand. This barrier layer makes removal easier and prevents staining, especially with intense reds on lighter skin tones.

How to remove Diamond FX face paint

Remove the face paint with mild, non-moisturising soap and cool to lukewarm water. Hot water opens the pores and lets pigment sink deeper into the skin - avoid this. Gently work the soap in and rinse thoroughly. Repeat until all the colour is gone.

For a cleaner and quicker removal without scrubbing:

  • Diamond FX Skin Soap - specially developed for removing Diamond FX face paint
  • Remover Towel - a damp wipe that lifts the face paint in one go, ideal at events and children's parties where you paint many faces in a row

What to use Diamond FX Essential Blood for

  • Children's face painting - Spider-Man, devils, clowns and other red-led looks at birthday parties and events
  • Halloween and themed events - fake blood effects, vampires, zombies and horror looks
  • SFX and theatre - fake wounds, blood splatter and realistic injury effects on set or on stage
  • Cosplay and character makeup - red accents, lips and wounds that cover over a skin-tone base layer
  • Body painting competitions and shows - high pigment that stays put and covers over other colours

Frequently asked questions

Why are there sometimes small cracks in the face paint?

Large temperature changes during storage or transport can cause the wax to expand and contract, resulting in surface cracks. They usually disappear as soon as you start using the paint. There is no effect on quality or shelf life.

Is Diamond FX safe for children?

Yes, Diamond FX Essential is hypoallergenic, fragrance-, paraben- and lanolin-free, gluten-free and contains no animal ingredients. The Essential range complies with EU and FDA cosmetics guidelines. Always do a patch test 24 hours in advance for sensitive skin.

How many faces can you paint with 30g?

A 30g pot covers approximately 10 to 15 full faces, depending on layer thickness and technique.

What is the difference between Essential, Metallic and Neon?

Essential is a matte base face paint. Metallic has a glossy shimmer finish. Neon colours glow under UV/blacklight - Neon Blue, Violet and White are semi-transparent under regular light and only become vivid under UV/blacklight; the other Neon colours are opaque and vibrant.

Can you paint Diamond FX over other colours?

Yes, and that is one of its key strengths. The wax base and high pigmentation mean the top colour covers fully without the underlying colour showing through. Product photos were taken under professional daylight lamps without colour editing. Colours may vary slightly depending on your screen settings.
