Rust is the go-to colour for old, healing wounds, rust and grime effects, and aged skin looks. Think a worn zombie, a wound that's a few days old, or weathered skin on a character costume. The warm reddish-brown blends well with skin tones and darker SFX colours.

When should you choose a single pot over a palette?
Choose a single pot of Rust if you already use it regularly and get through it quickly, or if you want to combine it with SFX colours you already own. A standalone pot is more practical when Rust is your base colour or you're covering large areas where a palette cake won't last as long.
How to use it
Activate with a slightly damp brush or sponge. Talc-based face paint absorbs water slightly more slowly than glycerin-based products, so use a little more water for a smooth application. It dries within seconds.
Pro tip: For a convincing aged wound, lay Rust down as a broad base tone, dab Dark Crimson or Maroon into the centre for depth, and blend the edges unevenly with a dry brush. The result looks days old, not freshly cut.
Setting and removing
MagiCake holds for several hours without a fixative. For long days or high-activity events, set it with Ben Nye Final Seal. To remove, wash off with water and soap or use a make-up remover.
